Been playing Arkanoid a lot lately at work because it works with a mouse and bounces a ball around.

What's some games like this that
a) Are actually for a computer
b) run on Win7
c)Are free or easy to steal?

Necro because I'm in an Arkanoid mood again.
Got a trackball, probably gonna get roms for a1 and 2, what's some other paddleish games that are free or easily stolen online?
Any game can be acquired online. One just has to ask.

I already got roms for Arkanoid 1 and 2, but I was looking for suggestions. Like I think there's one that's goofy Pocky And Rocky cartoon shinto type stuff? I'm gonna dig through one of those mame databases

I'd go with Hello Kitty to Issho: Block Crash V, but Vita games haven't properly emulated yet. Maybe try Wizorb?

Check out Wizorb. Pretty cheap on Steam but there's yohohos out for it too.

Edit: Beat me by -that- much Anon :)
My taste in games is as varied as my taste in music and women.

When I first saw this thread, I thought it was gonna be a thread for Minecraft and similar games. Silly me.

Well, I'm aware of one game that hasn't been mentioned that'd fit in the genre: Touhou Reiiden - Highly Responsive to Prayers. Before Touhou was the Waifu Shmup it is today, it was originally an Arkanoid clone, where-in you play as Reimu smacking a ball around to break tiles and defeat bosses.

While it's not for modern computers, you can get an emulator to play the game if you want.

Reaxxion was an old Popcap game that's an enjoyable Arkanoid clone, but it's probably hard to find now and I doubt it works on Windows 10

I'm on 7, anyway.
Been playing Arkanoid 1 and 2
Swapped over to a mouse from ball because it's not like either of them are a dial anyway so whatever. Might try digging up my NES and the legit dial but that was kinda tiny iirc.
I think there was some other ones, but it seems like those useful "mame database" sites are dead or half-work at most?

Reaxxion and wizorb are definitely the best on pc (and peggle, if that counts). Death's hangover and Mondrian are the two others I have on Steam, they are pretty decent. If anyone wants an Android arkanoid, my favourite is piffle - it's a clone of an older arkanoid type game, but made by the mob who made cross road so super polished.

I remember playing a block breaking game on an iPod.

There's another one: Peggle. Basically that game with color and effects. And unicorns.

@XYZpdq DX Ball 1 and 2, they're both free, on PC and made for mouse(+trackball) instead of keyboard. I have played a lot of DX Ball, it's really great with really fun and dumb power ups.

While more a spin on Qix, JezzBal is really fun and is also mouse controlled.

oh holy shit I haven't played that in like, twenty years

JezzBall is a top tier game in the "oh shit I remember that one!" category.

With MAME/RetroArch you can play a lot of games that are impossible to play without a trackball, like Crystal Castles, Castle Crisis, Marble Madness, Missile Command and, of course, the criminally overlooked Domino Block, a South Korean block breaking game that you should really check out.
