BLM needs to stay in people's attention range

so they'll have to do...something stupid again. Once the public eye fades from you your movement is toast and all those pretty little liars will have to go back to working at Starbucks rather then live large off of donations.

Personally I hope they do something monumentally stupid against the Toronto Police; something so retarded it costs them all the public sympathy they've milked out so far.

They don't have any. I haven't seen or met any normal person who doesn't think BLM Toronto are a bunch of bitter regressive shitheads. I've also seen a lot of anger and disappointment directed towards Pride for rolling over to their whims.

Either way, Black Lives Matter as an organisation (though not its constituent ideas) seems to be a fading trend. The election fractured the public's focus on all matter of social issues and they've been having a tough time getting in the headlines, which doesn't sound serious until you consider how quickly every progressive movement this century has burned up when deprived of the media hype cycle for even a few months. Hell, 2017 has seen the Women's March and March for Science dead and buried within two days.

Didn't I tell you guys that the whole "we are for LGBTWTFBBQ" thing was just an act. They are, and always have been, a hate group since day one.

Fixed it for you.

Thank, bud. But yeah, that whole act was to meant to convey "See we aren't a black supremacist group. We totally support the fags. Nope, definitely aren't a hate group." Expect them to get more violent as money and relevance continue to deplete.

I bet they storm the parade and try to disrupt it.

Also did y'all hear about the "protest parade" happening in Vancouver? Apparently the trannies are gonna have their own little Safe Space pride away from the scawwy, scawwy Mounties because PrideVancouver refused to ban cops.

Fucking lol. Canadian cops apologise to you pulling you over.

What's funny to me is that Pride capitulated to BLM so quickly. The Canuck police have always had really strong ties to the LGBT community, and it was always seen as a role for how minorities should interact with police. BLM in Canada and in the US could stand to learn how to not be a punch of spoiled prima donnas from Toronto Pride.

I think that bullshit they pulled last year demanding no cops was particularly shitty, I'm no fan of cops but that event was not long after the Orlando shooting. Pride events not just wanting security but to beef up security in the wake of something like that is completely understandable. Toronto Pride should've told them to go fuck themselves and to stay in their goddamn lane (something BLM supporters whine about when anyone dares mention blacks aren't the only group at increased risk of police brutality), but unfortunately lol cucknada and if they did BLM Toronto would immediatly start accusing them of racism (and most leftists seem to be deathly afraid of being called racist even if it's by a bunch of pants-shittingly exceptional morons).

While BLM claims to care about LGBTQ people they have no problem hijacking even goddamn vigils for the victims of the worst mass shooting in US history to whine about their unrelated bullshit and complain about whitey. They might genuinly care about black lgbtq people (especially trans women since theyre the highest group on the SJW food chain next to black people and Muslims), but even then probably only if they have the right politics.

But they don't. Yusra Khogali is on record wanting to fry the fags and she's been damn near explicit about black issues mattering more than LGBT issues. Homosexuality has never been popular with blacks in general and I'd attribute that to Protestant churches being the social foundation of every American black community. There's no room for this in public discourse because the standard perception of liberalism (from liberals and conservatives alike) pigeonholes all minorities into the same team battling white conservatives.

It's Toronto. That's basically the worst epicenter of all the negative Canadian stereotypes. It's also by far the biggest Canadian city.

Compare it to PrideVancouver, which is also in a very Left province (Relatively speaking. Technically it's actually split between the three major parties at the moment) which explicitly refused to ban cops from the Pride Parade.

It's almost like...holy shit, you want to maintain a good relationship with the peacekeepers, because even if there are really bad incidents, it's good to see them as human and to have them see you as human. Almost like...if they reach out to you, you should shake their end, even if the other hand isn't exactly clean.

The Toronto Star reports that BLM Toronto has missed the deadline to register with the city's pride parade. Toronto Pride has no plans to reach out to BLM and find out their answer, so maybe they've learned their lesson: don't associate with racist nigs.

They disrupted Chicago's Homoparade in recent years, the lack of a permit didn't stop them from trying to hijack it . Also the gays are bitching about all the straghties showing up.

I think he was talking BLM in general, not BLM Toronto specifically. One of my cousins who's big into this BLM stuff says that a lot of the bigger chapters are privately homophobic, but don't really go public with it because gay people can exert enough political and societal pressure to successfully push back.

Remember, this BLM group failed to realize what a calendar is. What's stopping them from being openly Homophobic and getting not just them, but the rest of BLM in trouble?

BLM chapters being mostly independent of one another is supposed to help keep blowback to a minimum of one chapter, like Toronto, says or does something unfathomably idiotic. That is the tidy theory. In practice, the overlap in views and ideals between the various chapters means that a brush that applies to one fits others as well. Since black people in America mostly came from the South and the deep religious culture rooted in Protestant views, it's not exactly wrong to make the assumption that BLM outside of the most liberal cities is probably going to perpetuate the homophobia. Interestingly, the parts of the black community that reject homophobia and the Protestant views are often the most zealous defenders of the LGBT community, possibly as a show of solidarity from one minority to another.

While some of Khogali's homophobia is rooted in the fact that she's a Muslim, the rest of this point about Protestantism is completely valid.

Why are you trying to imply this was a mistake? I don't think they ever planned on attending. They got what they wanted last year.
Not calling it a mistake, just the cold hard truth. They wouldn't have attended it unless they were to protest it.

The criminal BLM thugs got exactly what they wanted last year, like you say. That was humiliating gays, whom they hate, as the homophobic bigots they are. They pretty much hate anyone who isn't exactly them.

Stupidly, the LGBT community caved in and gave them what they wanted and alienated long-term allies in the police by doing it.

Fuck BLM. They don't matter any more than anyone else.

Guess who showed up for another chimpout

Black Lives Matter Toronto members march in Pride parade as a 'reminder'
Members of Black Lives Matter Toronto made an appearance at the city's Pride parade despite not being registered to march this year.

The group took to the parade route just before the end of the day's festivities with raised fists and posters bearing the words, "May we never again have to shut it down."

"We are here at Pride 2017 to remind the community, that we are still standing up for the them," the organization tweeted Sunday afternoon, towards the end of the parade.

The group is not officially listed on Pride Toronto's list of parade participants.

At last year's Pride march, the group halted the parade with a 30-minute sit-in, demanding that Toronto police floats and booths be barred from future Pride parades and community events. Their demands also included a commitment to increase representation among Pride Toronto staff and to better support black events during Pride.

"This 2017 Pride festival is more inclusive and accessible because of the actions we took last year," the group tweeted Sunday afternoon.

As part of their message, the group also drew attention to what it called "the violence of police anti-Blackness" in the recent inquest into the death of 45-year-old Andrew Loku, the father of five who came to Canada as a refugee from South Sudan and was shot by police in an apartment corridor while holding a hammer in July 2015.

The group has been highly critical of the Special Investigations Unit assessment of the case and a lack of transparency from the police watchdog.

Like all systemically marginalized groups, they also put out a press release
TORONTO, June 25, 2017 /CNW/ - Black Lives Matter - Toronto activists marched in the Toronto Pride Parade today despite widespread reports that they would not attend. The group staged a somber artistic demonstration mourning the deaths of Philando Castile, Andrew Loku, Amleset Haile, Sumaya Dalmar and other Black Lives lost to police violence and systemic white supremacy. The action offered a series of reminders, drawing on the concept of Sankofa - learning from our past - highlighting incidents of anti-Blackness within the broader LGBTTI2QQA communities in Toronto.

Black Lives Matter - Toronto also declared that the 2017 Pride festival was more inclusive and accessible because of the actions they took last year demanding increased support for disabled, Mad and Deaf community members and artists, increased funding and support for black queer youth and Blockorama/Blackness Yes and the removal of uniformed police officers in Pride.

"We are here at Pride 2017 to remind the community, that we are still standing up for them," said Rodney Diverlus of Black Lives Matter - Toronto. "We are reminding the Pride attendees that just last week, we were witness to the violence of police anti-Blackness at the inquest into Andrew Loku's death. We are reminding Pride not to celebrate our queerness with unapologetically anti-Black police forces."

This has been a tumultuous year that witnessed ongoing anti-Blackness at the hands of Toronto Police Services and a marked increase in violence towards racialized queer and trans people. "We want to remind Pride attendees that Black folks have always been an integral part of Toronto's queer and trans communities and our actions and our demands have been part of this legacy. They are for all of us and have made Pride 2017 more inclusive for everybody." said Syrus Marcus Ware of Black Lives Matter - Toronto.

The collective demands, created in 2016, all approved by Pride Toronto, were as follows:

  • Continued space, including stage and tents, funding and logistical support for Black Queer Youth.
  • Self-determination for all community spaces at Pride, allowing community groups full control over hiring, content and structure of their stages.
  • Full and adequate funding for community stages, including logistical, technical and personnel support.
  • Doubling of funding for Blockorama to $13,000.
  • Reinstatement of the South Asian stage.
  • Prioritizing of the hiring of Black trans women, Indigenous people and others from vulnerable communities at Pride Toronto.
  • More Black deaf and hearing sign language interpreters for the festival.
  • Removal of police floats in the Pride marches and parades.
  • A town hall organized in conjunction with groups from marginalized communities, including but not limited to Black Lives Matter - Toronto, Blackness Yes and Black Queer Youth, in six months, where Pride Toronto will present an update and action plan on BLM-TO's demands.
"Today is a reminder to the queer and trans community, and to the whole of Toronto, that we are still here, and that we are proudly Black, queer, and trans," said Ravyn Wngz of Black Lives Matter - Toronto. "When you look at what we have accomplished through our action last year, it's clear that Pride is better for everyone."

Black Lives Matter - Toronto is the Toronto chapter of #BlackLivesMatter, an international organization and movement fighting anti-Black racism all over the world.

They were only able to list four people their chimpout was devoted to. One wasn't Canadian and another was a tranny whose death seems to have been a suicide.

They're tagging all of their tweets with black pride https://twitter.com/BLM_TO
