Today, the anniversary of Terry Davis death, I'm releasing the TempleOS video game I've been working on for about the past month. I encourage you to check out the website I put together, I don't think I need to copy and paste it into the thread.

There's a lot of stuff I wanted to add that didn't make the cut due to time. There's a lot of stuff that didn't get properly balanced. The procedural level generation is barely past the proof of concept stage. Despite that I'm still happy with what I'm releasing today. Currently I'm exhausted from rushing to get a minimal viable product together. Cleaning up the code for public release. Putting together a website, getting webhosting. Taking videos, converting videos into GIFs. Creating the distro ISO. Licensing and documentation.

The Website said:
The TempleOS community must stop using Leddit, Discord and other suppressive and proprietary platforms. One must ask themselves, "would they have banned Terry?".
Ahahaha! :story:
Truly, you're one of the best parts of this community. 10/10

>The TempleOS installer has been modified to provide the option of playing the game without installing TempleOS
heresy

Wait, we have a fucking git server?!

> Version 0.420
Why's it gotta be Hitler's birthday?

I updated the website to include QEMU instructions. I was digging through Terry's old Linux files and I noticed he had a QEMU script that included the flag "-machine kernel_irqchip=off".

This fixes the mouse+keyboard input issue.

awesome shit, will play if i can get it up in a vm

nice work my good man

I finally made the time to give this a play yesterday. Pretty cool, though it took me a while to figure out I was supposed to find the big base thing and attack it - I thought the whole point was to just fly around and ceaselessly shoot the red things at first, but the element of attacking the base makes it a much more interesting game, of course.

I couldn't figure out how to shoot the lasers as shown in the gifs, though. I got the impression that the right mouse button was going to shoot the lasers but that didn't seem to do anything. Is there something else I need to do to switch to the lasers?

You press 1 and 2 to switch weapons, it's in the popup when the game starts. I probably should have made laser default since it's the more fun weapon to use. The game needs polish, it was absolutely rushed in the last few days before the deadline.

I put the call out on the fediverse to harass this guy doing a TempleOS charity stream to try to get him to play BlazeItFgt on stream. We were unsuccessful because the guy didn't even figure out how to run TempleOS, but at least we got him to do shout outs and look at the game's website. Props to Daughter, ColonelJ and Noided on the fedi for harassing this guy on my behalf.

You can find the full stream here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XYhWHCm7EtE
