In celebration of Half-Life’s 20th anniversary, Black Mesa has finally released its Xen trailer. Looks promising, even though it took longer to make than the rest of Black Mesa.

Well, it’s more uplifting news than the inevitable “oh here’s a half-off sale i guess” news we’ll probably get from Valve today anyways

But this time, the wait was worth it. I liked how they designed the environments to make it familiar yet different. Also, nice touch with the additional research outposts from the previous expeditions, never saw any of that apart from a few dead scientists.
 
I wonder if every Half Life game will be remade by the Black Mesa team.

With all the assets of the first game completed, the expansion packs would be reasonably easy to churn out. HL2 and the episodes are another story, of course.
 
Bitchin'. It's close enough to an official full Half-Life game, I'll take it.

My post was mild bait, but I didn't realize that parts of this game are now playable.
 
So Xen now looks like an alien jungle and not like a bunch of barren asteroids. I really like it!
The overall art style reminds me of Avatar a little bit.
