The mangaka mourns the death of Kentaro Miura:

It says, "Mourning. I tried to imitate the drawing for awhile, but Miura-sensei has really delicate lines. Casca...i wanted you to be happy..."

Apparently someone asked Rei why the series has not been consistently serialised & he just straight-up said that "I can't work, I'm depressed"

Watched through this years ago, and it's pretty awesome.

I remember thinking that Roberta's Blood Trail was kinda lackluster though. I also remember it being kinda confusing for some reason.

So did this series go anywhere or is it still in hiatus hell?
The manga meanwhile is currently at chapter 115 at a new arc. We may or may not know more about Dutch's past and the Lagoon Crew may or may not get a new nakama as things stand now.

I remember watching the original anime when it aired. Does the manga have Togashi syndrome or why is the mangaka so slow releasing stuff? This thing is 15 years at this point if not more, right?

I'd normally mock him with "muh mentals", but knowing how Japan behaves when anybody isn't a perfect cog, I can see this being legitimate thing and not being a bitch.
Also doesnt help being a mangaka you do get kicked around by yer editor and publishers.

What is even going on in this anymore? I read up the arc where the maid comes back. There was a chink girl at some point but I don't know what that was about. Anyway, I remember hearing that the author had a kid at some point.

Chapter 117 releasing in 4 hours. You can read it on Viz when it drops.

I hope we get an actual shot of Revy's dress. Putting her in one last chapter and not showing it in full detail was criminal.

As an aside, I wouldn't expect to like a fifth crewmember being added after over 20 real life years, but Le Majeur is pretty likeable. Maybe it's just the parallels to Rock's own entry to Roanapur, but I found myself rooting for her more than i expected.
