For a second I thought Vargskelethor Joel was making video games now.

The gay looking rabbit thing looks like that fairy eeveelution in the first pic. Like it's carrying the axolotl comedian from Animal Crossing.

The gay rabbit/eevee thing is apparently female and named Billie. So it's a goat? Is it a trans goat?

Looks like a generic enough 3D platformer. The musical stuff is probably annoying as hell unless they keep it to a minimum or use it cleverly. Which I doubt they will.

*Edit. Oh look at this:
  • Billie Bust Up is a musical 3D platformer inspired by Disney musicals, with memorable unique villains and singing bosses, we’ve entwined the gameplay into the music
  • Each main character has their own song that sells their personality, motives, and charm. Up to 15 unique songs by Daniel Ingram!
  • The lyrics serve as a telegraph for the gameplay
  • Attacks drop to the beat of the music with rhythm-based battles
  • Music adapts to the way you play

Is Daniel Ingram an important name?

I wonder if the last bullet point means that if you suck at rhythm the game will compensate by journo-moding itself.

*edit again

Looking through the Kickstarter it looks rather interesting. Anyone play the demo? This rutabaga I call a laptop certainly can't handle that.

This sounds like a terrible gimmick honestly, there's a reason most rhythm games are pretty simple and definitely not 3D platformers.
When the novelty of the music and the gameplay being synced up wears off, you have platforming that looks extremely weightless from the trailer, and boss fights that look like they drag on because they have to follow the music.

Maybe it'd work if when you fight better the song changes to be more frantic and you can get more hits in and end the fight early, but it doesn't seem like it from what I read in the kickstarter, so the fights will most likely last the same amount of time no matter how good you get at them, so why not just play a game entirely designed around the mechanics based around rhythm rather than shoving it into a 3D platformer.

The whole project also just feels like it's trying to ape a Hat in Time, except with a musical element. The cute exterior with the darker stuff underneath, overly theatrical villains, the main character being designed to be an overly cutesy female, and fighting with an umbrella.

I wonder if the last bullet point means that if you suck at rhythm the game will compensate by journo-moding itself.
No need! I checked out the doc they linked listing "accessibility options" and it already has journalist mode!

And if that's not enough? Just use the win the game button!

IIRC, one of the devs on Discord confirmed that Billie is non-binary and goes by she/her or they/them, because of course they're doing that, but she's not trans

Daniel's the guy that made the music for MLP among other shows.

There's a few videos of people playing the demo (or pre-alpha), but here's one without any commentary. It's just the Fantoccio fight and a small test area.

Even The Last of Us 2's accessibility settings didn't straight-up give you invincibility jfc
