While active wear is the way it because it works, I do side somewhat with Bunjeeeeee here. The article does talk about angles and the thing is that the ones they are banning are redundant if what you want to see is the technique and not merely the body of the athlete, which isn't the same as censoring their bodies altogether. The same can be said of uniforms, which aren't up to the athletes to pick and female athletes have complained for years about the fact they have to mind their performance as well as wardrobe malfunctions. This is an issue that literally carried to the last Olympics and is probably not going to be solved because things technically work already.

A gymnast has no business using a bikini cut leotard but there have been cases. Handball players have been fined for using shorts instead of bikini bottoms. And there are cases of penalizations for having short shorts you don't get to pick. Are these cases of sexism and oversexualization? Maybe, but they are very likely just the decisions of people that don't think things through.

Will those decisions lead young women into thottery? No, in fact is half the reason a lot of girls don't pursue sports seriously. A thot is a thot, sporty or not. You have to extend some grace that maybe a woman that wears only a very low cut sports bra and biker shorts maybe just feels comfortable that way and maybe even has a performance reason for it (like sweating like a hog) but you probably don't abscribe actual effort and dedication to someone that dresses the way I just described.
