Since my previous thread kinda-sorta turned into a soft megathread, and the tech layoffs will continue until morale improves, I think it's better to group them all together.

For those who want a QRD:

Just this week we've had these going on:

But it's not just Big Tech, the vidya industry is also cleaning house bigly:

All in all, rough seas ahead for the techbros.

Imagine how much money they'd save if they just stopped delivering junk mail entirely. They'd need far fewer vehicles and drivers, fewer mail carriers, burn up less fuel, waste less space, generate less trash, spend less time sorting and handling mail pieces, etc.
That won't fly with the U.S. Postal Service as those junk mailers are literally their single biggest paying customer group.

Hybrid, isn't 100% WFH, it's WFH 1-3 days a week. I'd say 2/3 of employers are doing this

Hardly. The CEO's have realised that WFH is a legal loophole for visas; now the indians can stay in their call centres in india while working for silicon valley.

Well done, WFH bros, I tried warning you. Enjoy being replaced by foreign workers.

Yep, WFH a person overseas

Correct. Those tech bros in Silicon Valley are losing their jobs to Cletus in Texas, not pajeets. One $280k salary in California will net you two engineers in Austin at the same rate (and a far better quality of life per dollar). And the engineers in Austin are just as talented; The University of Texas is one of the top 10 computer science programs in the US. It's amazing what no state income tax does for a company and wages.

Yep, that and not living in the most overpriced/retarded housing market in CONUS (California)

Name me a time when the workers have forced the hands of the owners and not suffered consequences down the line?
This won't end well for the laptop caste. Suffer, faggots.

Automation is cutting the work for them and the people who refuse to go back are top of the list when the lat offs come.

It‘s going to be a blood bath in the near future.

Lol, that'd do it. And they're still going to expand headcount in all likelyhood - this is them taking advantage of the normalization of layoffs to clear out dead weight. You don't want to hire someone into a fucked up environment and have them be onboarded by retards. Past a point, its preferable to shitcan the team, rebuild it in six months from scratch with none of the dead weight.

Much like its a mistake to assume that the march of 'progress' is to do the thing that isn't working, but harder, its a common journo mistake to think that headcount growth means the number never goes down in the short term. But we don't expect journo's to understand this, that's why they talk about others achievements for a living.
