You seem to not understand how a narrow majority works. There are still debates in the Senate because a majority vote in the Senate is sixty votes and so requires a modicum of bipartisanship. Mcconnell and the GOP walled up when they realized the minimum wage boost was part of the bill. The process currently being used in forcing the stimulus relief through for Biden is the same used to end the government shutdown a couple years ago, only requiring fifty votes and is being used because GOP members suddenly remember that they're penny-pinchers.

Sanders can fight for shit all he wants, that doesn't mean Chuck Schumer can't see that GOP senators won't vote in favor of whatever it is, leaving it dead in the water, and will throw it out. Yeah, that’s budget reconciliation. They didn’t need the GOP involved in the process at all, so going “muh Republicans” is worthless when the Dems were hellbent on paring down stimulus and unemployment to the barest minimum they felt they could get away with all on their own.

They literally needed zero GOP votes. It was Manchin, Sinema, King, Coons, et al who were hellbent on killing it in spite of all of them campaigning on a higher minimum wage because that shit polled well. This is entirely on them, at this point. You expect me to believe McConnel is all-powerful when he doesn’t have a majority on a bill he’s unable to filibuster on!

I expect them to at least try. Manchin even mentioned that there was zero pressure on him over the White House over the minimum wage. There are so many easy optics wins Biden could have had by now and just does not give a shit. I’m not nearly as pissed off when it comes to Sanders or Trump even though both also failed.

Let me know when Biden shuts down the government for a month in attempt to force the wrong people to pay for one of his campaign promises.
