There's a conspiracy tard at my gym who believes QAnon and before inauguration he went around telling everyone that the military was gonna come and stop the inauguration and arrested Biden and Harris and AOC and Pelosi and Hillary and Trump would be made president. Everyone that he'd sperg to had the "please shut the hell up" look on their face.

There's a woman who believes it, too, and she's nuts but she was abused as a kid so I will give her a pass. She thinks Biden isn't really president because the gift shop for the White House is closed. Seriously.

Sounds terrible, but also unrealistic. I'm sure our elected officials are at least smart enough to take the very simple steps necessary to avoid that very scenario. After all, there's a reason we keep voting for them.

Probably because politics has become incredibly polarized in the United States. Biden, being a milquetoast centrist with a little progressive garnish, is unable to really motivate or satisfy progressives who have become deeply frustrated by decades of political intransigence, and his mere existence can only anger the increasingly radical right, who apparently view him as anything between Hugo Chávez and the antichrist.

Another factor is probably that he was President when that debacle of a withdrawal from Afghanistan happened, which is a shame really, since his decision to withdraw from Afghanistan is easily the best decision he's made.
