if you murdered Archie while he slept who would you take to the sock hop?

If I murdered Archie in his sleep, I wouldn't take either to the sock hop.

A Man does not kill his rival like a coward, in the dark. A Man fights his rival in broad daylight, beating the rival to death with his own bare hands, and in so doing, proving before Gods and Highschool that Man's fitness to seize the women of Riverdale.

If I murdered Archie in his sleep, I would be pronounced Outlaw and banished from the football team. Betty and Veronica, overcome with grief, would submit themselves to be strangled and flung on Archie's funeral pyre, offering their bodies and souls in solemn sacrifice, ever after beyond my reach. And I would likely have to flee to Ireland before the next tides, lest the wrath of Jughead find me and punish me for my misdeeds. The sock hop would forever be denied to me. Such is the price of my deceitful nature.

Jughead is confirmed Asexual, after all.
@Solid Snek Archie and Jughead are distantly related by a common ancestor in a recent comic.
