I feel like Trump and Biden should both be disqualified from this if for no other reason than they are too recent to judge fairly compared to the others.

Its really hard to pick "the best" and its an entirely subjective metric. I've always maintained however that Buchanan is hands down the worst, since he's the only President that allowed a Civil War to start during his tenure.

On the one hand true, but on the other crisis situations are exactly where great leaders distinguish themselves from merely average ones.
"It's when those burnt-black clouds submerge the earth in shrouds that kings earn that crown."

I just think he was the only post-Zapruder presidential candidate naive enough to think the system works as described, and folded when he found out how deep the zog + glowie cartel rot goes. Everyone else has been more than willing to play ball, if not unabashedly in the pocket like LBJ and Bush senior, or a literal retard dementia ridden Weekend At Bernie's prop like Reagan and Biden. I don't blame Carter for keeping his head down.

Frankly it makes me afraid to read much about pre-WWII political history because I want to cling to the illusion that it hasn't been ratfucked the whole time.
