In other words, you can be mean, but you can not harass and encourage the harm of another combined with private information.

Of course it's illegal if you use illegal means to obtain the information.

Lurk a little. We actually don’t encourage illegal behaviour. The information we get is posted publicly. That’s sort of the point. Lolcows are silly people with no self control. They post things publicly that they really ought to keep private. I’m sorry if your friend told you that we hacked his phone to get those pictures of him in a diaper, but that’s just not true.

As for harm, well, again, we don’t encourage that. Anyone who does is more than likely to get their own thread. The entertainment value of a lolcow is what they do themselves.
