There's an irony in the British Broadcasting Company actively destroying it's own language to the altar of Political Correctness to publish news in "pidgin".

Just out of curiosity what part of the U.S is this dialect from? I've never heard a black person speak anything even remotely resembling this.

It's a combination of several African, Caribbean, and (Afro-)Central American "pidgin" dialects, meant to try and draw from the commonalities between a given local language and the broader spectrum of international English in order to appeal to people like Jamaicans, Belizeans, etc. When a pidgin transforms into a full language, it might be called a creole, but these definitions aren't utilized across the whole field of linguistics and both labels are highly politicized.

In America, we have Louisiana Creole and Gullah as our two major Euro-African linguistic fusions, but both evolved from their "pidgin" state centuries ago and can be considered as full languages. None of our African influenced dialects are covered by BBC Pidgin to my knowledge, except perhaps a Virgin Island dialect or some such I'm not aware of (assuming there is one.)

someone run the BBC pidgin site through Gizoogle

I tried to read this but I had a stroke halfway.

At least it's somewhat intelligible enough that a standard English speaker can get it. Still hurts to read though. It's like your mind is saying "Hey that's not English! What's going on here?".

It looks like it would be hard or impossible to use pidgin to write any sort of flowery or poetic literature.

I guess I'm too far up north to run into people who speak like that.
