When did I even say that I liked Platinum Games? Still haven't forgiven them for canceling Scalebound for when they did, and I still think Kamiya is a piece of shit, so..... You're wrong.

And even in the off chance that this is true, then yes, Hellena fucked herself. I'm willing to see that if we start getting receipts from Platinum. Kamiya going on a block chain and acting like a pussy bitch isn't helping their case any more than Hellena begging die hard Bayo fans to boycott a game she fucked herself over for.

Yeah it's more likely Platinum is in the right here only because they have actual proof and someone investigated their claims.

If this is true, and Taylor doesn't present proof of her own, then wow that's very disappointing how she basically took advantage of people's good faith and basically muddled a real issue with how VAs are treated like shit. Taylor should really be ashamed of herself if this is true.
 
I would be on Platinum Games' side here had Kamiya not acted like a bitch and blocked everyone in sight. Dude used the block button so much he actually caused Twitter to lock his account. It's not helping people want to defend them.

Hellena effectively lied by omition at the rate she was initially offered, and attempted to sabotage the launch of the game, because this is what women high on their own farts ultimately do. She fucked herself and potentially burned every bridge surrounding her with the gaming industry as a whole.

Now, I don't give a shit either way who's telling the truth, as I'm moving on from a lot of modern gaming. As it currently stands with this story though?

Between this and Amouranth immediately patching things up with her "abusive" husband I feel foolish for believing woman, a mistake I will try to avoid making in the future.
 
The only purely innocent party in this case is probably Jennifer Hale. Literally the only thing she did was take an acting job from an entitled diva who wanted a Hollywood salary (allegedly).

It's almost like
  • One group has a consistent reputation for shittiness and the other doesn't.
  • Many of the things that make companies shitty employers directly factor into them making hated games, particularly the corpo stuff.
  • One has consistently put out games of a certain quality level and has only started to stumble recently
  • The existing evidence partially to entirely contradicts the "victims" claims, especially them buying an almost certainly more expensive actress.

I can't say if Helena is right or wrong. She does have a point though, that voice actors are indeed not paid well enough. But she also has admitted that she was diagnosed with depression and had a mental health break in the mid 2010's.

She has done stage work for at least the past 4/5 years, at least when Smash Bros Ultimate was released. However, that doesn't mean that she wasn't on edge when pandemic happened. She has stated she was scared to death of losing work. That is completely understandable.

I believe Kamiya acted like an ass. But then the Japanese don't quite understand mental health issues. I don't think Helena intended to come off as insulting Jennifer Hale either. I think what she meant by the whole Bayo merch thing is that she felt her version was the Bayonetta.

Jen for her part at least is sympathetic to her as is Grey Deslile. But they are under very strict NDA to not say anything about the game. I imagine once it wears off they'll be open. It is now a he said she said but if Helena is ultimately deemed to be lying I fear that trolls will only harass her more and she may try to kill herself. Maybe she rejected the money but atm currently is struggling with making ends meet and is completely off the deep end. Who knows?

If anything Platinum is to be blamed for their shitty issues.

what issues tho? former VA didn't get hired, they hired someone else, that's it. the former VA then kicking of a shit storm borderline getting the company canceled is hardly their fault.
 
Oh I wasn't referring to the VA thing with Platinum.

Rather that they:

Basically begged MS to work with them again or bring back Scalebound

Openly said they want to be acquired

Put out one of the worst games of the year and massive financial failure that is Babylon’s Fall

Add Kamiya's retarded little tantrum too. He's too lazy to try to even attempt to learn English.
 
Honestly the biggest red flag that makes Platinum look better in this situation is really the fact Hellena didn't show any receipts despite already breaking NDA. Like she should present some sort of proof.
 
i swear i may be the only english person who did not get blocked by kamiya and got a response a few years ago.

acording to sources the 4 grand she would have gotten would have been for a kameo (depending on how the game is, an alternative/original bayonetta), thus clouding even more what she said. what a shit show.
