Don't know why the change when breakthrough feels just like a tweaked (for its detriment) version of the original rush
Yea, that's exactly what it is. It's just an inferior version of rush. I think breakthrough works for what they're currently doing with rush with the objectives you capture and hold, yet can be recaptured. It lends itself more towards that close quarters hectic shit.
This is a hard agree. Having seen 4 out of the 9 were supposed to get Im not too excited since theyre all way too small and dont even feel like theyre made to use vehicles in.
They've said that the 3 urban maps are the smallest in the game, but there's nothing indicating how much larger the rest of the maps are. The shitty mountain map is still fairly small when compared to older BF maps.

True story, I’m playing Rush (or actually, King of the Hill) on this gray like mountain village (I cannot remember the map name) as a Recon. I see a tank rush up towards my team spawn. As a CoD player, what and how did you expect I handled it?
So, what I do is flank around the tank, toss a C4 around its vicinity. Tank spots me, teammate revives me, I'm short one C4, detonate it, one less tank to worry about for my team to advance. How hard is it for people to know their roles and utilize their toolset for the greater good of their team?

I'm loving what is offered from this beta. Aesthetics with the soldiers, maps and weaponry is top notch, one of the best I've seen yet. I hope that DICE does not compromise the modern military vibe like Activision did with MW2019 onward. Destruction feels improved from Battlefield 3 and 4, buildings don't just crumble, but deform from dust and sparks. Lovely touch where destruction has consequences with obstructing visibility, I don't even think Bad Company 2 had that.

I've experienced some kino moments (blowing up an enemy jet approaching our tank using an unguided rocket, headshotting a truck driver approaching the team down the mountain, etc.), the essence of what makes battlefield good. Also experienced some more bugs (loadouts not saving, being unable to quit to menu, etc.), hopefully (:optimistic:) they all get ironed out before release!

COD is doing just fine
No, it is not.
Much like ActiBlizz's other dying game (WOW), the player numbers will continue to decline but profitability will continue to increase, even when compared to the golden age, from increasingly egregious monetization practices. While you may consider this an untenable direction, consider that the same easily could be said about the National Debt which has continued unabated in spite of literal decades of doomsaying about it. In short, nothing ever happens.

Certain kinds of players will decline in numbers, whales who have no real life will continue to cover the differences while other players leave the hobby/game altogether.

Maybe that's for the better, I'm starting to agree with Null that we live in this era of "soft eugenics" where if you don't have the impulse control to not pre-order games, spend your entire paycheck on TF2 lootbox keys to open crates (Yes, I was in a server recently where this happened in 2025.), or jack off to porn instead of chasing a relationship, you're turbo fucked and your bloodline is going to end with you. I'm reminded of a co-worker with no kids and a strong gambling addiction who only works so he can gamble and that one dude from that one Bubsgames video who spent 50,000$ on a single GMOD server.

Edit: It's completely impossible for some people to see a few steps ahead to understand that these companies haven't changed at all, they've just changed their tactics to reel you back onto the AAA plantation of paying more money for subpar products. They're building you back up like they did with MW2019, MW2022, Cold War, so they can slowly but surely break you down again with games like Vanguard, MW2023, B06. It's just mindfucking for your average normie to understand there's a reason all these companies hire psychologists.

If you could ever call a game mechanic "flanderised", it's scope glint.

TTK needs to be adjusted with short range engagements. It feels like you could just be beamed by assault rifles and shotguns running about.

Not sure if it’s a bug or intended, but the defibrillator can kill enemies and stun lock you if an ally revives you. It’s not uncommon to be revived, then die and have to wait for redeployment.

the PS5's feedback and adaptive triggers make it a hoot to play on console.
PS5 controllers will do the same thing on PC, pretty awesome. Very few games have gone out of their way to support adaptive triggers outside of on the console itself. If anyone reading has one sitting around, try it. Battlefield 6 is now one of the few shooters I'll go out of my way to play with a dualsense. Each gun has specific trigger pull. Even fun for a bit just to try each gun out in the range.

From what I've noticed it's consistent with 4 and 2042, the difference is that map design in 6 is pushing more and more meatgrinder situations from all directions rather than specific chokepoints from older maps. I think the closest comparison would be BF1, where the TTK dipped harshly low with, of course after shotguns, the introduction of the SMG 08/18.

Kiwifarmers really can't get enough of playing woke slop nigger games. EA hates White people, and is also an all-round shit company, so good job of giving them money when you are White. More Reddit by the day, you guys (if White) are pathetic.
