whats different about this beta phase that people are actually noticing how cod-ified the game is?
The state Rush is in, and the fact the new map says it's supposed to be 'Medium' sized but it's really tiny as fuck

Also, any else notice the netcode being shittier this time around? I swear I'm getting snuffed out when I'm behind cover regularly now.

my biggest criticism so far is that it continues the tradition of anyone playing the Recon Class being complete fucking dicks, granted the only map where its semi-bad so far is Liberation Peak in my opinion, 2042s maps were a lot worse in terms of everything in between the points being open season for snipers, this has been an issue since at least BF1 so I don't think were ever going to see a world with Snipers not being fucking annoying in video games

They don't want you to know this, but the actual best spot for a Recon to be with a sniper rifle is right behind the frontline. I've gotten far more kills holding corners and angles then I do sitting on a rock in the back of the mountains. Even if I don't get a headshot, I deal enough damage for a damage assist kill that is only a single stray bullet from a teammate away. A lot fewer angles to get shot from and you're not an isolated target if you need to counter-snipe. The motion tracker and especially the UAV call-in make fighting close quarters around objectives a lot easier (and it's a shit ton of free XP). Spawn beacon is great for pushing objectives with teammates competent enough to use it, especially on Rush and Breakthrough.

Try not to lose faith, we're out here, we're just few and far between.

Ive only played one game of Rush so far and its been a big problem as far as Sweats go (Close-Quarters was pretty bad with it too), though that might just be because its the second weekend in general, I really don't like the eSports culture permeating every multiplayer game now, people need to put these fags in their place
that people are actually noticing how cod-ified the game is?
I would say its more the fact that its CoD players who hate CoD being desperate for literally anything, they like those Muslim refugees that flee a desert shithole and then ruin European countries doing the same thing that caused their desert shithole to become shit, granted I don't think all CoD players are like this but I certainly know the type, I do think EA is coming around to the idea that people dont like Sweats, but CoD sweats dont care and just colonize every other game without mercy

Anyone else having any issues in this beta phase? During the first weekend my game ran with no issues aside from a short visual bug. This morning, I crashed several times in a row within the first few minutes of the matches. Threw an error I didn't quite catch the first time and no errors the other 2 times. I read that going into the firing range before starting your game "fixes" it, which seems to either true or a really strong placebo. Still get an occasional crash. Whatever they changed between this week and the last, they fucked up.
Check your windows event log after the game crashes. I had the issue of the garbage EAANTICHEAT failing and closing the game.

I posted earlier how I fixed it with a cmd command for fifa.
But I haven’t started the game for beta 2. So I hope I don’t have that issue

People are complaining about the TTK but I would probably wager and say its the animations that make the game feel like CoD.
Battlefield up until 2042 has had very "floaty" animations. Not in a bad way IMO, but in a way that gave them a very distinct feel from Call of Duty titles. They must've gotten a new animation lead, because it feels like they're trying to emulate the snappiness and exaggerated movement that you saw in MW2019.

I think it’s their engine tbh. The engine changed massively between BF1/BFV and 2042, and they’re haven’t updated the engine a whole lot since 2042. Look at helicopters.

BF6 reminds me a whole lot about 2042 and not in a good way.

It feels like there are 3 viable weapons
<-(Butthurt)
The Ar's, shotgun, and "snipers". I'm totally not seething after seeing 4 matches with the shotgun doods at 50+ kills <10 deaths

Absolutely. I only played a couple of rounds last night but the rubberbanding and just general laggy feeling was enormous compared to last weekend.

I'm not normally one to call for it but yeah, the shotgun needs a tuning pass. At least half my deaths last night were some guy with a shotgun sprinting directly into my face and one-shotting me before I could possibly even react.

The carbines aren't bad, depending on their use. I prefer them in close quarters and building-to-building fighting over the ARs because of the mobility and draw speed. The M4 has the highest fire rate in the game and is an absolute monster indoors, and it gets even better with the ammo that increases headshot modifier. The AK-205 is a little weaker, but is an absolute laser you can fight at medium to long range with. If you can aim, the recoil is basically non-existent. The M417 (or whatever the fuck this game called the HK416) hits as hard as any AR, has about the same dropoff values and is still overall mobile. It's a little more ammo-starved as a tradeoff. I generally a prefer one of the carbines when I'm playing Support because being a medic with a heavy LMG just makes you a slower target.

I feel like the shotgun's effective range needs to drop off a bit closer, but I don't have any issues with it being a single shot in tight quarters. I'm tired of seeing shotguns being as weak as a fart in games. I haven't used it enough to speak for slugs rounds. I don't even hate the two LMGs. I feel like the only "shit" class of weapons right now are the DMRs. The Mk14 is absolutely pathetic.

Also on the k/d thing, you gotta account for the fact that getting majority of damage in an assist still gives you a kill, and getting picked up doesn't count as a death. I've have a couple 30-40/10ish games where I know for a fact I didn't get that many kills, but I picked up a LOT of assists from being an opening shot with Recon. It's just another system to feed you exp and make you feel like you did something for the match.

The weapons are pretty meh and the shotgun overpowered.

(Wtf is the point of having one class with an AR AND a shotgun?!?)

Sniper is pretty meh. It was FUN to use one in BF1 when it was the only viable one shot kill and only at some distances. There’s little point when TTK is low that you die almost instantly to any gun especially the shotgun.

The worst part: There seems to be little difference between the different weapons.

Why the F are people jumping by around like rabbits on some maps? More COD bullshit. You’re supposed to be an Arcady milsim, get that shit outta here.

And one of my biggest gripes: THE CLASS SYSTEM IS BROKEN.

In BFV and BF1 you NEEDED one of each class. Medic heals and revives, support supplies and builds fortifications. They have their special weapons: Support with a heavy ass MG and medic with a short range SMG. (Or semi auto rifle.)
The Sniper is the only one with a one shot weapon, and given the size of the maps his spotting scope/gun and spawn beacon is hella useful.

In BF6? Engineers serve no purpose unless there’s a tank, so on a medium (small) sized map without vehicles you only need assault and support. But guess what: NO CLASS LOCKED WEAPONS, so everyone can just run around with the same meta AR cod-style.

As has been referred to in this thread, they said they intentionally chose smaller maps for the beta to showcase "high-octane Battlefield". My guess is it's 3 small, 3 medium, 3 large for release, but as usual, remaining skeptical that EA are doing this correctly.
Well, I’m apparently too smart to work for EA, but maybe they should have put one of each kind of map in the demo? A small, a medium and a large?

Sure as f ain’t going to pay full price for this when V and 1 are still being played online.

They're trying to attract the COD fanboys and it worked. If you don't know, there is no large COD maps anymore, every single map is now the size of Shipment, Nuketown or Rust. Don't believe me? Run thru the maps in BO6, this is quite literally all they are now. If they included big maps, then these same COD fanboys would be overwhelmed, and the actual Battlefield fans don't need to be sold on this beta, the COD refugees do.

It has a similar TTK to battlefield 4
even the UI is battlefield 4 ish, i honestly think they wish to get the timings for people to grind BP shit right, i've seen on many gook shooters and old online shooters that managed to live that long going the same route.

your money or your life.

I play COD. I know COD. This ain’t no COD my friend.

BF was never popular because it was “COD with occasional vehicles”. It was popular because it’s different from COD.

By appealing to COD players, they’re only getting the worst of both worlds.

COD people like to bitch and moan, but come autumn they’ll buy it because “Zombies!” And “I hear they’ve slowed down/sped up combat and have jet packs now!”

Balance Changes to Breakthrough and Rush. We’ve just made some balancing changes: In Breakthrough, it now takes fewer players on an objective to speed up capture. Also, defender respawn timers in both Breakthrough and Rush are now fixed at 12 seconds instead of the previous 6-12 second range. Try them out and let us know what you think!

MCOM Timer Changes to RushWe've just made a change to Rush: the MCOM timer is now reduced from 45 to 30 seconds to better the balance between attacking and defending players. We’ll continue to monitor and are ready and able to make further balance adjustments.

Apparently they just patched Breakthrough and Rush

COD is currently imploding, it would be stupid to ignore potentially gaining such a large playerbase. Plus, to the untrained eye, BF6 footage looks just like MW2019, especially on those smaller maps.

The gui is really cod like. Million active things, rewards for nothing, objectives painted out so you don't get lost..

COD is doing just fine, despite grifters constantly making dumb videos pretending that nobody is playing it.

Oh hey! Look at that… COD Steam numbers:

What do you know… The number of players on Steam (Which obviously doesn’t include consoles) going back over two years show that the game is doing just fine with the usual fluctuations because of new releases etc.

Are COD players tired of bs skins? Sure. But they’ll still buy it. If they’re looking for a replacement, there are better ones out there than BF6.

COD is doing just fine
No, it is not. Please do at least base minimal amount of research before you post.
Get used to it BTW, with XDefiant down there will be a ton of COD refugees this year, several COD content creators already said they're prioritizing BF6 or just straight up abandoning COD this year.

Yup, I would not be surprised if BF6 is meant to be the franchise's take on MW2019, or rather the answer to it.

The ARs are fairly good but limited by the total ammo capacity being fairly low. You get 3 mags total plus your "gadget" weapon. Unfortunately the 870 is so fucking strong that it doesn't matter. In my opinion, the M4 is the best gun in the game currently if you discount the 870. All the weapons are viable to some extent though. I do think the LMGs seriously need a tune. They feel like total shit to use. I understand their thought process, the ADS time and hipfire are abysmal to encourage "support" play in the form of letting assault players rush in while you give literal supporting fire and stuff like that but in practice the LMGs feel like clunky pieces of shit. I never felt that in my hundreds of hours of 4.
