this. especially if this means becoming a control freak yourself. you think all the other servers suck? make your own with nigger in the servername and enjoy yourself, there are probably enough who are looking for the same experience.
 
Back during bf3/4 if I was sick of admins banning whatever killed them I didn't mind dropping money to rent my own server for just a month. I just slapped "no rules, msg me about cheaters" in the description and people played on it.

Server browsers are the best anti cheat and even if it's annoying banned weapons can add options for tuning the meta to a better experience than the devs intend (subjectively). The browser also adds a lot of community investment to the game. Tryhards make servers exclusively for clan vs clan matches, casuals make knife only rules etc. It's where the game stops being a corporate railroaded experience and becomes a sandbox for your entertainment.
 
Server browsers are great in general.

I'm talking about games that aren't really mainstream anymore, most of the battlefield community servers have been perfect even if they have rules such as "no racism or hate speech." Getting other players to join your server named "nigger" in your dying game when it doesn't have a reputation can be a problem. Take a look at how long it took castaway.tf to gain a somewhat decent playerbase.

Once in BF4 I managed to destroy an attack chopper that had spawned next to me on an objective and someone had gotten into it, and I guess the guy I killed was a janny since I was immediately banned. Its also happened right after a kill sometimes and when it does happen you just have to laugh about it, since you pissed off a janny that bad

Modern Warfare 3 (2011) had the best mode ever; Survival Mode, Co-op round survival on any multiplayer map. Not only was it bots, but they made a whole mode for offline preservation. Which is why I think it's the best CoD in the series IMO. I don't like zombies so this mode is my prefered one and I hate that no other modern shooter implements it (with LAN). I wish that BF3/BF4 had it.

Servers with custom rules fixed a very annoying issue in the early days of BF4 - once the team started falling behind in ticket count, a lot of players will go Recon in a vain attempt to salvage their KDR and make the round end faster.

They simply added sniper slots limiting the amount of snipers to 5 per team. The server with sniper slots played much much better than those without.

Couldn’t agree more. I have never once played MW3’s campaign, but I’ve sunk countless hours into survival back in the day. I still return to it every so often and it holds up.

A few weeks ago I was dicking around trying to see if that mastadon easter egg that unlocked the DICE camo still works. I joined an empty server and another guy joined shortly after. I was capping objectives and he flies by in a scout heli and kills me. I drop "do you fucking mind I'm testing something" in chat and he immediately admin kills me with a warning in chat to "not disrespect admins". I called him a nigger and he banned me. I'm also banned from nearly all of the TBG BF4 servers because their admins are all gigafaggots and I like making fun of them.
 
Open Beta Weekend 2 will introduce a new feature called "Custom Search" which will let players choose / prioritize their favorite combinations of maps and modes in Open Weapon mode playlists via matchmaking system.The server browser won't be tested this week.

I never tried 2042 with bot modes, but I remember having fond memories of Battlefield Vietnam offline where you could jist throw in as many bots as possible and enjoy the chaos. Similar thing with Battlefield 2 on the intentionally limited 16-player maps. Good times.

I think a 0.7 is normal for only 20 matches. The maps were the chaotic meat grinder variety too.

Also while I played a lot of recon I actually never touched the bolt action, that second DMR you unlock felt awesome so I stuck with that or a carbine.

I hope the semiauto snipers we end up getting are a bit more useable than the bolt action honestly.

a 50 cal anti-material rifle would also be fun

Plenty of games, COD, has that and it is garbage. I can search every HC game mode in Black Ops 6 and 100% of the time just get thrown into stakeout or nuketown.
