The Back to Basics mode, but DICE never advertised it.
The gun selection for BF1 already caused it a lot of problems for a lot of the non-WW1 autists that played it sadly. It's why BFV went full on alt history with some of it's gun selection

What's the state of older BF games and hacks? been doing BF4 on PC a bit lately and there's people who are relaly low ranked just racking up kills. Big KD/s. Yet scores aren't great because they don't do any of the other point scoring things. I'll be a medic a third their kills by same score.

I was playing a Hardcore on Hanger 21, no matter were I spawned or went. I was instantly being sniped. I've played that map in core many times recently and without spotting I was being instantly found. Felt bullshit. It was literally, whenever I spawn in or where ever I went, I was instantly being sniped at.

I played some of the closed alphas & network tests for BF6, it was a lot of fun albeit unfinished. Some guns we're just the basic models without textures and some silly glitches but to be expected with an alpha. There was only 1 session where I was having glaring network issues, besides that it ran pretty well. Not to sound like a shill but it felt a lot like bf3/bf4. I hope they keep the drone-bomb in as I had fun larping as a russian drone video.

I also don't understand the whole 'don't pre-order it' drama or what ever it is. People don't actually pre-order digital games, right?

I normally wait until the very last minute to preorder for the preorder bonus, but that's also because Reviews tend to drop the day before the game does.

Some people preorder so they can preload, others do so because FOMO, they HAVE to have that fancy preorder drip.

The Secure Boot/RAM Encryption shenanigans are beginning with people finding out the hard way that you can't properly enable it on a machine you've been actively using without it already activated. It's been pointed out that Vanguard and other ring 0 anticheat programs don't require it but that's beside the point when the more sophisticated programs run on a separate computer anyway.

"please update your Nvidia driver"

"please turn on the steam overlay then restart"

"please login to the EA app via the steam overlay"

This better be the blowjob equivalent of a video game because of how much they're asking of me.

I might skip out on 83 if this scratches the arcadey shooter itch.

What was the deal with the BF labs leaks? I keep seeing admin messages saying they're banning people for spreading them.

I hope you know you're one of the worst users on the site. The fucking black guy who can't go 3 posts without telling us how much he wants to fuck golden age women is unironically better than you.
That's strange, I didn't ask a dumb nigger like you what they think. Sorry I insulted your overrated, mediocre goyslop of a game.
I loved the game but the more I got into real WW1 through it (I already knew a lot, but not like after, it wasn't a driving interest) the less I could enjoy it, and then Isonzo just kind of ruined it for good. I disagree that it has to be historically accurate to be a good game but I agree that it's kind of shit in that regard. It's a modern game with WW1 paint on it.
Absolute hard disagree, if you're making a game set in a historical setting, it should at least try to resemble it. BF1 is the worst example in gaming history I can think of a game that apes it's setting but plays like a modern day shooter, it only resembles a WW1 game if you squint hard enough and somehow don't roll a single nigger in your squad(and ignore the game's boxart). A bonkers game like NecroVision is unironically a better WW1 experience and a more realistic one too, and if you're going with some alt history spin then this is how you go about it. BF1 is a-historical on purpose, both because DICE is too incompetent to do anything but the exact same thing they've always done weapon balance wise and because they're dumb swedish niggers who want to re-write history. JUST STOP OIL retards are more respectful to the paintings they destroy than DICE was to WW1 and all the (white) men that died during that time, anyone who is going to defend the game's shitty gameplay has bad taste and anyone who will defend the inaccuracies is nothing more than docile nigger cattle that just shits all day. I have no clue how BFV got such backlash for including women when BF1 was so much worse and the fanbase just doesn't care.

lol, why even make them public then? Amateur hour, at least they ripped off COD halfway properly from the looks of it.

I think this right here is the biggest turn off. First of all, running any modern EA game on PC is a massive pain in the ass, I would unironically rather deal with Ubisoft and their shitty launcher. Second, the more hurdles the game throws at me the less likely I am likely to bloody play it, especially if I can't pirate it. I played Battlefield 2 last time about a decade ago, but you know how getting into a game worked in that title? I boot up the game, I look for a server, I connect and I choose a class. Simple, done, if I want to I don't even need to boot up Steam.
This is just one of the reasons why I think this game will not be all that it is propped up to be, no matter what the hype train may think.

Some people preorder so they can preload

Yep, people want the ability to play as soon as it releases. Especially when there wasn't superfast internet. Another reason is people know they're going to buy a game and so preordering just gets that part out of the way.

Some initial thoughts from 3 rounds of gameplay (2 rounds on Weapon Locked Conquest and 1 round on Breakthrough):

1. Some vehicles (tanks, IFVs, Helis) are not faction specific. ie: both sides can use an M1 Abrams, they spawn on the map at cap points (I think they spawn in base too) with 30 rounds of shells, but once you get down to 4 rounds, it will automatically fill up your ammo (you have 1 round in the chamber, but you have 2 in reserve and will having a round being loaded into your inventory - think BF4).
2. The RPG has a built in side-mounted scope that you can't take off, nor can you switch to iron sights.
3. You can carry both a rpg and stinger at the same time; like the vehicles, both sides have the RPG and Stinger (I didn't see an Igla or Javelin).
4. Support is both medic and ammo guy. Ammo and health supply in 1 box that is shared now; I wish assault had medic.
5. Class locked weapon mode is only on conquest for now.
6. Movement felt fast; not as crazy movement as say 2042, but a mix of BF3/4 and COD (not as zany as COD).
7. M1 Abrams felt nice and heavy (realistic for a Battlefield game) to use; reminds me of BC2 tank gameplay.
8. The Commander is an AI now, at least I think. I remember seeing something about "The Commander wants you to capture a point."

I'll post more of what I think later on, but so far it's not as bad as I was expecting, but I pray it launches with a server browser.
I know EA will only keep the server browser to portal...

I'm liking that they've brought back a lot of the movement from BF5 that they ripped out for 2042. But it's quite buggy - the modes weren't labelled in the menu, I cleared C key as my toggle crouch in the key bindings, but it's still bound to that key. I also seemed to be CPU limited to ~110 FPS with a 5800X3D in a game on the urban map (Cairo?), but getting over 200 FPS in the firing range and that felt real smooth. I got a crash fucking around in the settings, had to requeue. Now I'm back in the game modes are labelled in the menu and playing conquest on the Liberation Peak and getting much smoother gameplay.

Yeah, I didn't like (as least for the weapon locked class mode) that by default your gadget (on PC) is "3" for gadget 1, "4" for gadget 2, and "x" for gadget 3/class special thing?
For example on support (by default) I had:
1: M249 LMG
2: SIG Sidearm
3: Defib paddles
4: Deployable Cover
x: Ammo/Health Bag

I switched "x" for "4" in this case.

Same thing happens on controller and it's really annoying if you play with Tactical (Alternate) button layout, since when you try to melee or mount your weapon you'll crouch.

UI bugs are expected with this type of shit so I'll cut some slack for it, design wise the UI is not horrible to navigate through, unlike the Hulu menu that modern CoD has. Along with that though, the settings menu is a total mess, repeated options in different sections and a bunch of shit tucked away in sub-menus of sub-menus, they really need to get that shit sorted out.

So far I think the game is looking to be really fun and I'm having a blast, still metering my expectations though, I'm still expecting them to fuck it up somewhere in some way...
