I've been seeing 2042 shorts on yt and the game still looks like unbelievable trash. Even the mongoloid commenters agree

I see arguments that the games are 15 years old, so it's to be expected. I can see both sides of the coin. The exceptions would be PC games since they could have player hosted servers. What I don't get is the delisting of these titles.
Game preservation doesn't seem to matter anymore.

My car is 15 years old. If I woke up one day to find out Toyota was turning it off and it would stop running after a selected date, I'd be pretty angry. It still drives me nuts that game companies are financially incentivized to break their games after a certain period of time without providing community tools for private servers. Other industries have to make their products break over a certain period of time because there's not many markets outside of video games where consumers would tolerate this shit. I don't even play the games anymore but I own all of them and would like to at least have the option.

I was fortunate enough to find a server for Bad Company 2 Vietnam. All but Cao Hio Castle holds up well. Movement is showing its age. Who knows when I'd get lucky to see life in BC2 again before the server sunset.

Probably not an unpopular opinion, but "scope glint" in modern multiplayer FPS games is both gay and retarded. Snipers never dominated COD or Battlefield to begin with, so it's fixing a nonexistent problem. And the implementation isn't even an actual glint, it's like everyone with a 4x or better scope has a giant flashlight on their rifle, which somehow is shining in everyone's face even in darkened hallways.
Try saying that when you play Bad Company 1, 2 or even Hardline. The glint is for balance reasons so you wouldn't get picked off unexpectedly.

Sniping in 2042 is horrible. I was playing V yesterday and was having a fun time with my shots actually landing and the breakthrough maps not being bad to get snipes compared to 2042. I end up going back to it and am immediately frustrated by how much more work it is to snipe in that game. Not just shooting but being able to snipe people in Breakthrough. Horrendous experience.

In hindsight, I noticed that sniping in V is more consistent than in 4. And I'm bad at sniping. Did something change?

I'll say this, when it comes to your cross hair being on a person, I've had more success hitting my shots in V than in 2042 and 4. And that's without zeroing past default in V. You can't even zero in on 2042. One of the few good things about V I suppose.

And it's oh so good.
Isn't 1943 just a console conversion of 1942 with the Bad Company engine? Even so, I'm glad that modders care more about preservation than the actual developers themselves.

On that note, I plan on obtaining the final centennial achievement for 1943 before the server closure.
