Did 2042 remove specialist voice lines?

DICE said that they are planning to rework the voice lines for the Specialists, to give them a serious tone, instead of the happy-go-lucky lines that they had on launch. They removed the post-game quips, as a result. I don't know if the quip removal is only temporary until the new lines are added, or if it's a permanent change.

And we don't know how long it will take, for this change to be made.

Specialists shouldn't be in the game at all but as usual DICE is sticking with their shitty game design and making minor improvements that have nothing to do with gameplay so that they can say it's fixed. They really want those Call of Duty operator bucks.
 
Don't talk bad about my Falck! I will always play medic/healer (which Falck and another specialist have revives) in BF games because not being revived sucks.
You misunderstand; I WANT more older female representation in games. 2042 just sucks as a game.

That explains the Neebs Gaming video. I missed the part where they were re-recording lines.

Im gonna miss that GI joe cornfest. Oh it was shit, but enjoyed it.

I just noticed that one of their specialists is an old, White, German woman. Gray hair and all.

There are some artworks out there showing that the female specialists weren't all ugly. Falk didn't look like an old climate activist. It's like ME:A, they had to butcher the faces of the female characters to fit [current year] western gaming.

I play healthslut too because nobody seem to care about reviving people and not wasting tickets.

Why don't they just get rid of every line of dialogue? That cringe Whedon tone has no place in BF.

Patch 1.1's notes for BF2042 are up now. Changes include increased bullet velocity and headshot multipliers for the DMRs, and nerfs to the 50mm cannon on the Condor. (and the Hind, although they forgot to mention it in the patch notes)

They also made changes to Hazard Zone for some reason, despite DICE saying that they won't support that game mode anymore.

No mention of Boris turret getting damage buff or rate of fire changes, or at least changing his Mastery conditions to reflect how shit the turret now is. Disappointing.

I also didn't see anything about this, but sometimes when you are revived your game will switch to a fixed camera 3rd person, basically requiring you to die again in order to remove it. Hope they address that and the bug where when you are waiting for recovery, you'll sometimes be prone aiming your gun.

A funnier one I noticed was when I was playing as Irish, the squad deployment intro would replace him with Sundance but say his lines the same, with perfect lip sync.
 
I'm pissed because Battlefield 5 V has probably the smoothest and least jank gameplay of the mainline titles but they just scrapped the entire thing moving on. They fixed going prone next to walls(just lie on your back retard), the mobility is second to none(tucking and rolling when falling, jumping to climb over walls), you can construct cover(why not build HESCO walls in modern combat?), and map size hit that sweet spot to where, in a full game, it's rare you're alone in one part of the map and you aren't in an instant-death clusterfuck when you spawn(looking at you BF1)

BFV still has bugs. Sometimes, revives won't trigger or inputs won't register. Not as bad as 2042, but it's undercooked compared to 1.

Still a good game in its own right.

Wonder if there's any chance of modding features into BF4.
 
They're selling 2042 for equivalent to $6 at a local supermarket here so I ordered it for Series X. Plsyed the beta on PS5 and wasn’t impressed but a bargain is a bargain and I hear they either have or are adding stuff to portal mode?
You could've bought Hardline with that money. Come on, man.
 
I'm in the group of people that think everything after BC2 sucked. As the series progresses and the games get worse, it's easy to look back at the games I hated at the time and pretend I liked them.
that could be said for any battlefield tho, cuz BC2 had it's a fair share of issues too. the same group also more often than not is up their own ass with THIS IS NOT EXACTLY HOW I REMEMBER IT AND IT DOESN'T GIVE ME THE SAME FEELS I HAD AS A TEEN PLAYING IT, IT SUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCKS. not saying you're part of that club, but you'll still know what I mean.

Never actually got around to Hardline! Didn't pique my interest when it released but a lot people seem to look back at it with fondness nowadays. Might have to try it.
if you're not too hung up on the military thing it should be fine, you also gotta remember every battlefield takes some getting used to. map knowledge especially is king, I've seen my fair share of people coming into a new game or even map, get stomped, and then bitch and moan endlessly expecting to "pwn" like in they're still in the game they played for 3-digit hours. this is especially true on maps with a lot of dynamic objectives like in hardline, since there are lot more people running around instead of camping next to the mcom and shooting down a corridor in rush.
