Were there female soldiers in Battlefield 1? OR was that just marketing?

Historical accuracy be damned, she looks authentic and badass in that shot.
Only in the Russian expansion, and she fits since there were some female snipers in the Russian Civil War.

That's the beauty of BF1, even if takes some liberties it handles the setting far more gracefully than BFV or Vanguard.

And it actually happened:

Also, here's the Twitch viewership info from Twitch Tracker, in regards to the game:

BF2042 Twitch Info.png

Granted, the Battlefield games never had the big viewership numbers that the top titles have, and Twitch viewership numbers are not a reliable metric to determine if a game is good or not, but the drop off in viewership is still massive.

EA and DICE also managed to fuck up the zoom levels on the optics in BF2042:

The fact that they can't even put the correct numbers for things like this, including the bug where reloading the Revolver while empty only puts 5 bullets in, even though it has 6 in it's chamber, and the fact that they patched the AC-42 Extended Mags ammo count, but still managed to get it wrong every time, makes me wonder just how bad the foundation of the game is, coding-wise.

Also, how in the world did they make a gun display with a negative firing rate?

blaming EA for the series's decline is far too nice towards the absolute incompetence that makes up the current DICE workforce. EA's had major control over the company since the Bad Company spin off titles. I used to vouch for their art team, both in visual and audio design that carried where map design and balance couldn't, but even they in 2042 seem to have left for better developers. I'll update my post when i can find the compilation tweet of all the turnover in the last year.

have this instead for now -

Holy shit, and they're still going to double down on the specialist system for the next game?

Is there some kind of conspiracy going on at EA & DICE that pertains to them wanting to poison Battlefield?

Same reason why CW still pushes shit like Batwoman even though no one watches it. It's about the message/pushing the agenda.

Oh and maybe money laundering in CWs case.

I honestly like 2042. That being said i can't believe they released the game with like 6 maps and 1 game mode. I prefer TDM so I'm glad I'm on ps4 where the lobbies are half the size.

Time to play consoomer devil's advocate, and dear god I hope Dice doesn't fucking catapult egg directly at my face.
Well, thank you Dice for swapping that catapult out for a trebuchet.

Personally, I do like the game and find it fun to dick around with friends, but the state of the game is undeniable and this absolutely should have been postponed for another 6 months. It wasn't worth rushing this out to beat CoD considering they're busy shooting themselves in the foot.

I could at least appreciate Battlefield V's forced gimmick of female soldiers. There's a certain sense of accomplishment hearing a female German shout orders and use battle chatter in WW2.

Battlefield 2042 has no original bone in its body. Worse, it's all meshed together without any forethought of quality or reason. It's a broken mess. Even if it worked, there's no long term appeal. Maps are too large, characters are dog shit, weapons have no punch, UI is clutter.

Having played some of the 2042 Beta and hating it, then seeing the reaction and having that opinion reinforced, going back to BF4/1/V has been an absolute palate cleanser. 4 especially, it really is everything I liked about 3, but far more of it. Even the shitty battlepack monetisation isn't all that in your face, and you get enough of them by just playing the game anyway.

The sheer amount of content available on these slightly older games blows 2042 out of the water. Look at the sheer number of attachment options for each gun in BF4, it's unreal by comparison. Modern gaming really has gone downhill.

64 player AOW modes are now available, for a limited time:

They will use the smaller versions of the maps that are used on the older-generation consoles.

I do wonder if this will cause issues on the lower populated regions, or if this will help.

Did they even playtest the maps and 128 player count?

And how would 128 player matches WORK with the limited next gen consoles in the wild? (PC cross-play? Good luck, controller users.)

I fail to see the point of this, the main problem with Conquest & Breakthrough were the spaced out objectives.

128 players isn't an inherently bad thing, in fact it's actually one of the few sensible ideas DICE had with this game, but the maps are far too large to take advantage of that. In the "beta" and GamePass trial, I spent far more time trying to reach firefights than I had when Battlefield only had 64 players.

Short of them placing artificial boundaries on the current maps to cut down on bloat, the only way to make 128 players work is to have future maps be more condensed than the vanilla maps, or at least place the objectives closer to each other.
