The only trend that worked in favor of Battlefield is 3's Close Quarters DLC. Call of Duty was raving in popularity; Battlefield wanted a piece of that. So, they released tighter maps that focused more on infantry combat. Of course, if you played on console, BF3 felt like a refined CoD on account of the smaller player count and map redesigns.
BF2042 also apparently has very noticeable mouse input accuracy issues, as show in this video:
The readings on the left are for mouse inputs in BF2042, and the readings on the right are for mouse inputs in Farming Simulator 2022. Not only does FS2022 have more players on than BF2042 in Steam, it actually reads mouse input correctly as well!

You can't. It's not the first time that DICE go after trends. During BF1 they wanted to make a competitive esport thing, it failed. Then in BFV they made a battle royale mode and failed because no one asked for BR mode in a Battlefield game. Now it's the hero shooter meme, they want their own Fortnite/Overwatch/R6 Siege crap.
you can, but to do it on the scale of battlefield you'd hit league of legends numbers of heroes while having a solid enough base to support it (heros meaning actual different skillsets and personalities etc.). for example if all your heroes do is kill shit at different speeds everyone will just grab the best one because it's simply the best option, so you'd need you'd to go back to more objective based play, and we all know the BF playerbase of cod rejects is too dumb for that. OW/siege just limits how many you can bring into a match so you don't need as many. in a match with 64/128 you can guess how many you'd need (alone to not re-enact the clone wars). inb4 "just lower player numbers".
the smart play is keep classes and just add loads customization (like how about having different voicelines per class? preposterous!) which would do exactly what they want, sell shit while keep the BF gameplay intact, but expecting that kind of common sense from nu-battlefield devs would be dumb.
One of the creators of Call of Duty assigned to course correct Battlefield. How does that even remotely make sense? It's also nice to know that DICE's incompetence managed to fuck Respawn over too, I guess Titanfall will continue to get shafted by EA if the series ever gets a new game.
Battlefield was more about the classes, not the particular heroes. You were infantrymen fighting for a particular country or faction. Working together as a team for the objective. Hero shooters is just going to distract from that vision.

There are Christmas themed shit and they look way better than a game made in 2021.
Also, real fucking nitpick but the soundtrack is so fuck-awful and looking at the artists who made such travesty, it was Sam Slater and Hildur Guonadottir, hack musicians for Sicario, Joker, Arrival and Chernobyl. Who knew that a soundtrack that has whale sounds for music was made by """Award-Winning""" musicians. More like film one-trick, Zimmer-wannabe shitters. Like make music for your hack films and leave vidya OST alone you fucktards.
>play pistol-only game on Portal server
>we all have the same weapon
>for some reason some people shoot like if the pistol was a SMG
There's no anti-cheat?
How the fuck did Battlefield get this shit in the first place? I still remember them being a main competitor to Cod in 3-4 then outright surpassing Cod with Battlefield 1 and now it's just going up in flames before our eyes. This shit took less than 4 years.

While we're here lamenting the absolute state of this game, 1.6 people are still arguing for the merits of exponential spread increase over Global Offensive's logarithmic one.

Here we see the duality of the Swede in action. One group rapes your wallet but gives you quality at times (Overkill), and the other just hates you for being a white male but still wants all your money (DICE).

That's interesting. As a long time FPS shooter fan. I actually feel I have trouble aiming in the game at times. I have put it down to general choppiness, but if there is mouse input issues, that could also explain why my instinctual aiming sometimes is just off ever so slightly.
