I hope they remembered that CoD made that same mistake with Black Ops IV. And EA didn't support Firestorm after a couple months.

fair enough, still doesn't inspire confidence. dice la did fine on their own and he was still in charge of tf2 and apex before he left. and as much as I like titanfall it's gameplay (which was always closer to cod) it's not something I'd want to see in battlefield tbh.

and as much as it pains me, I gotta defend EA here a bit. from their perspective it makes sense to compete with cod with their own cod "clone" on top battlefield, so people wanting to play either got an EA option.
the main problem was bf1 launch wasn't complete shit (for once) and cod directly competed with tf2 by doing scifi with IW that year instead "boots on the ground" towards battlefield.
 

An in-depth video of why Battlefield 2042 is awful. And this is a BETA one month BEFORE release.

Now I want to play Battlefield 1 again. *sigh*

Think about it, Vanguard, as mediocre as it is, is superior to 2042 because it's FUNCTIONAL.

Battlefield 1 was the last good and fun Battlefield. Reminded me of Battlefield Heros in some aspects.

Same, I have no issues finding matches if I get a wild hair to play again. I haven't tried BF1, but BF4 is currently unplayable on Xbox. There's only something like 10 active servers in the browser and every one had a 20+ queue when I went looking. The one time I was able to join a game it must've been an EU or Asian server because I had over 200 ping.

Makes sense since it's the latest one, but you'd be surprised at how active 4 & 1 are, even the DLC maps.

Not as active and you need the server browser, but there're plenty of populated servers for Conquest.

Who knows what'll happen when 2042 launches, but they might cling on a bit longer if it's a dumpster fire.

1. So he can bypass a fundamental issue of the game and hack barriers (something done with a button in BF4).
2. So he has a riot shield, something that was an equipment item in BF4 and COD games.
3. So she's another McKay that everyone will use and rips off the grenade system in COD Advanced Warfare.
4. So she bypasses the visibility issues of the game, why can't DICE be bothered to fix that for everyone?
5. So he has a better revive and ammo crate? I remember when Support and Medic/Assault were distinct...

All in all, I think this Specialist system will go down as one of the most despised mechanics in a Battlefield game.

Christ, not even Battlefield V stooped to having special pronouns for their elites.

My god, is DICE trying to make Halo Infinite and even COD Vanguard look better? This game is going to be a shitshow.

because call of duty has specialists and makes a lot of money selling skins.
same answer for "why is there a battle royale mode in battlefield".
 
Battlefield has sucked since BC:2, stop trying to relive your weird nostalgia glory days of bf1/2
 
I will forever hate overwatch for introducing the retard pseudo moba characters into FPS, so jimmy12 can be UNIQUE because his UNIQUE SPECIALIST has UNIQUE ABILITY that he will UNIQUELY press when it's off cooldown.

Why would I just want to be nameless grunt doing my job as medic or engineer, I need to be fucking quirky and special.
