Is there really even that much animosity between the Cubs and White Sox or their respective fanbases? Both the Cubs and White Sox however have almost the same exact history: marred by struggles and misfortune before finally overcoming their long title droughts during a cinderella run.

I feel like Chicago fans would just be happy that both teams managed to accomplish something and that the spotlight was back on the City of Chicago for a change.
As someone born and raised in Chicago there is definitely a class divide between the Cubs and White Sox. The Cubs are associated with the wealthier north side, with Wrigleyville being turned into a little Nashville clone. The White Sox are associated with the working class south side. Liking the White Sox is seen, by some, as being more "authentically" Chicago, whereas liking the Cubs is for Barstool transplants. I think if there was a Cubs-White Sox World Series there would be a lot of people framing it as a battle between "real" Chicago (White Sox) vs fake yuppie transplant Chicago (Cubs). This Bill Burr rant reflects the attitude a lot of people have toward Cubs fans. It's 11 years old but it still resonates today.

There was actually a brawl in the bleachers during this year's Crosstown Classic, but Cubs-White Sox games have gotten violent before

I wonder how big the chances would be as big if there was a NY Yankees-NY Mets World Series?

I'm glad I was wrong about the Astros and White Sox series. I thought the Astros would turn it on in the postseason but they looked as bad here as they did all season. Good for the White Sox, they've had a nice run and now go on to face the Guardians.
I wonder how Berto from the West Side is doing right now.

In all seriousness, congratulations to the White Sox. And I am glad too see that Houston might now be in a downward spiral.

Putting in Crochet there was pretty dumb in retrospect, but it was also dumb in prospect. Hopefully the Cubs can make it another 3 game WC.

18 post season innings and only 1 run for the Cubs is really bad. Embarrassing. Hopefully next year your rotation won't get eviscerated and you can win the division.

What a disappointing end to the Cubs season, but not unexpected. Played like shit down the stretch, San Diego was red hot. Cubs bullpen was horrible all year and bats went silent. This was the matchup I feared.

Silver lining is this Padres team is going to beat the shit out of fraudulent Milwaukee.

I don't know what more can be done to give the Phillies organization a wake up call at this point. They have only progressively regressed with each season since the World Series appearance in 2022.

If anything, I feel that World Series appearance has only damaged them in the long term. I feel the organization is still being haunted by what happened in the 2010s. They were so happy to have a taste of some success again after that decade long drought that they are bitterly clinging to what got them that initial taste of success rather than figure out a way to further capitalize off of it.

And worst of all... I don't think their players really care. They all got their big deals that will continue to payout for years.

This iteration of the Phillies is toast imo. I don't know if they have good prospects but the star players are all aging too much for me to think they will have a shot of beating the Dodgers for the next couple years. I think 2023 was their best shot and they choked it in the NLCS.
