Has anyone played this? It looks like a space station 13 but doesn't have to steep autism requirement to start playing. I wanna try it but can't be assed into paying 19$ for alpha access.

Got into this game again. Deep dive of course.

Building the ultimate murder sub. Every fellow operator heavily armed and armored. Sub with fully kitted out weapons. Explosives of course.

Testing how faction relations and persistence work right now. Love to make an impromptu cell to haul off colony captains in. Down with the Coalition!

Gene editing is a new feature as well. As is gardening. Ton of small things for even the assistant to gum up.

I mentioned Barotrauma earlier and I figured I'd search for a thread here...fuck this is sad.
barotrauma is kind of a failed FOTM, i member a few channels trying to prop it up but it lost to lethal company.
the game also gives ton of leeyway for trolling so that makes potential players not bother at all and play with bots instead, at least they can hit the fucking tri-beam shot.

yeahm playing with randos sucks, also it doesent help that half the playerbase is russian or chinese.

How I feel about a lot of "co-op" games. I used to love playing with randoms but that was before the internet turned to shit. Now it's just retards (the unfun kind), faggots, bots (and not the single player kind), Chinks, and Vodka Niggers.

I hope with the new update we will get to see some more players, and hopefully the game doesent get overrun by troons.

Doubt the former, will take of a hell of an update and marketing (YouTubers) to bring this game back to the forefront. Not to say the game is dead, 5000+ players is pretty good, but it's forever niche. As for the latter, too late. This game is pretty much propped up by the modding community, and we all know what modding communities is filled of. As I once said, not every autistic person is a tranny, but every tranny is autistic, and there's a lot of autism.

I mean, there where some big channels who propped the game up, like rubixraptor if I recal, but yeah,I guess im on copium that the game hasnt been already infested by troons.

oh yeah barotrauma is pretty easy to pirate and play multiplayer and from what i can test on a pirated version there is no authenticity when connecting to a server, only mod file checks so yeah, you get a wave of chinks and russians to plague your game if you forget that detail.
with the PvP update i reckon it's going to get filled with cheaters because russians and chinks, kinda like how you shouldn't play on peak china/russia hours in GTA V, be it enhanced version or not lest you suffer with cheaters, SA has some but not as many as those two regions....

I used to play on a pirated copy until I bought it on sale when I had a few bucks left on a steam gift card

What is solo play like? I can't get any of my friends to bite on this, but since I got it for cheap way back when it was in early access I've thought about trying it out on my own. I played the tutorials and I'm a sucker for creepy underwater games.

alright, bots on turrets are incredibly precise but they are shit with the railgun and you will be piloting the sub 100% of the time since bots can't dock.
i do recommend modding because of the constant entity cluttering that can happen and tank your frames/RAM after your first playthrough but that's me playing barotrauma on a 10 year old computer.

I've finished the campaign solo, it's a very different experience but since you can switch characters you'll have access to all perks, meaning you gain power very quickly. You'll be the best captain, best miner, best fighter, best doctor, and be a total badass at everything you need to do, but you'll have to learn the rhythm of switching off of driving the sub to one of your gunners and back without ramming into shit.

Bots have gotten smarter since I played that campaign though so I can imagine it'll be even easier now, though without help everything is a bit slower, so be prepared for later-game missions to take upwards of an hour if you want to be thorough. I still loved my experience with it, though.

Barsuk street, home.
at least it was before mudraptors fucked everything up.

also they teased a new outpost DLC, how in the fuck is that going to work with jovian radiation on?
--edit--
on 1.8.8.1 (current pirateable version) there is a fuckup with the parallax, you should not be able to see these glowing jellyfish things that far especially inside a cave, something that wasn't addressed on 1.9.6.0 which is the current steam version if you own it legit.

I have been having a ton of fun playing this game. I have reached some endgame level strategies and it is ridiculous.

If you reach the final mission for the Husk faction you can become a symbiote with the infection. Constant heal factor, can swim in water without a pressure suit, no need for oxygen, 3rd appendege for assaults, and you can still communicate.

I have a crew full of individuals infected. Cult robes are OP do not disregard the lack of protections.

Fun tip. You can infect NPCs wandering stations with husk eggs and they do not complain. Watch the place descend into madness. Loot afterwards. Relax with your cult brothers as they move in.

Another fun tip. If you steal something from a station you can bait the guards chasing you to your submarines airlock.

Final fun tip for you.

Sky artifacts from alien ruins absorb water and oxygen at an insane rate. Since you have obviously embraced the husk infection this should not be an issue. Fill your submarine with artifacts and never sink again.

I do want to try a husk campaign. I "finished" a solo campaign with a custom overpowered sub and it was fun to steamroll everything but it's definitely not the intended experience.

The bots have a few more options, but it's still missing stuff like fabrication so in solo campaigns you're stuck fabricating everything inbetween levels instead of being able to use the downtime in more quiet runs.
