The SPLC lists the Nation of Islam as a hate group. They're also the ones attributed with Malcolm X's assassination, as he cut off ties with them after his pilgrimage to Mecca. They're antisemitic and homophobic, and have happily worked alongside white power groups in the name of black separatism and against racial integration and race-mixing.

The Black Israelites are mostly manic street preacher types who are wildly antisemitic and are often seen hurling epitaphs and slurs at random passersby in the hope of getting a reaction. They're openly racist towards anybody that isn't black.

Personally, they're not much in the way of actual black empowerment through positive activism and community outreach, and I can't understand why anybody would want to throw in their lot with a bunch of angry, hateful people that accomplish little more than further division and racial resentment.
