Marvin had mentioned Barb getting sued in another thread, so I looked up the court record. It's filed under Greene County's civil cases. The hearing is in two days.

If Barb is in this much trouble, it would be interesting if she tried to push Chris into getting a job. But that's not gonna happen. It makes too much sense.
 
the tugboat is going to be garnished....This is gonna be good!

Edit: Totally forgot that SSI and pensions could not be garnished....Literally nothing will happen most likely.

For reference, you really have to basically outright ignore your debt for a long time to get to this point.

Credit card companies and collections agencies will try everything fucking else before you're sued for the debt. Barb has literally just been disconnecting her phone and throwing letters in the trash hoping it would just go away.
 
With out Bob around we all saw this coming at some point, frankly I'm impressed (I'm not sure I should use that word in this regard) it took this long.

It may as well, she won't show and there will be a judgement against her but she still won't pay.

I'd assume this and with some back round in lending, I'd assume a sizable amount as they really don't want to drag a stone to court on their time to try to get blood. With out knowing all the details, I can't comment more, but few factors why they would not just write the losses off and go to trial.

Some of this stuff esp for large companies can go years and years before they resort to this.
 
I bet she used chris name to take loans and he is now blacklisted
(Here in brazil you're blacklisted by the SPC(Credit protection service) and you cant do barely any financial shit until you repay your debts,dont know how it Works in the US).

This will get paid in some fashion. If she does not pay, they will pursue wage garnishment or a lien on the home.

Debt does not disappear. You can't run away from it.
