I'll have to give a Vengeance Pally a shot, then! Was a bit interested in playing one, hesitant because of how pathetically easy it was to break your Oath.

I will say, I do wish there was an outright "evil" open for an Oath; was going to be running a "Kill (Possibly) Everyone Durge" sometime in the future, figured a Paladin would be an interesting option. I mean, there's the Oathbreaker, but I would've preferred an "official" player class. I'll take what I can get regardless; a Paladin doesn't exactly fit an evil Durge anyways.
If you're curious the three big things that will break a vengeance oath are.

Siding with auntie Ethel and giving her Myrina.

Killing Steelclaw (dark Urge interaction)

Choosing to stab whatsherface an extra time in the Punish the Wicked side quest in act II.

Unless they changed it, I'm pretty sure the easiest way to break your oath is to kill the two tieflings guarding Lae'zel in the opening of act 1.

Huh, alright. I'll keep these in mind; going to go ahead and try and run a Vengeance Pally sometime, Moon Druid wasn't cutting it for me.

I brought up Durge, because, as mentioned on this thread a while back, I was planning on running a sort of "Inquisitor" run; there's a lot of freaks in BG3, like the incest twins and the various troons, and I was planning on doing a run that involved... well, killing all of them, solo. Was planning on going Durge because, as the game would regard this as "evil", and Durge rewards evil players, it seemed fitting.

As for why it would be a "Kill (Possibly) Everyone" challenge... I am well-known among my friend group for being REALLY bad at stealth, and BG3 is no exception. I'm liable to end up pissing off everyone in the game, to say nothing of certain kills that'll end up alerting everyone regardless, or where stealth is otherwise impossible. That said, every little bit helps; in the event where stealth breaks for whatever reason, it helps to have a fallback option.

As for Pally... I just thought: Inquisitor = Paladin. That's it, really; doesn't quite fit for a potential mass-murdering lunatic, but I was admittedly curious.

Final battle had Evolved!Karlach in the portal almost defeating mother brain. She is insta killed. So La'Zael hacks away and she's down to like 10 HP with 2 turns left. Suddenly cutscene and she turns/absorbs her. Game over.

Hate. HATE. Whyyyyyyy. Is it better to ignore the enemies and get portal open then mad dash into it?

I like this game but I hate how being friendly with your companions make them want to fuck you
they added being friendly with your companion option via patch. Before the patch the only options you had was kiss and bed or kick in the balls. You cannot be neutral, cannot be friendly casual etc. you need to fuck them all this is why we have no normal dwarf, gnome, halfling companions because all of them should affirm a kink or fetish. (furry, horny, naive girl, fate fuck dom, vampire homo etc.) and you cannot have them with normal George who hangsa in a tavern. After all rpg games are about genitals, panties and sex.

I like bg3 but thats a major weakness I tried to be friends with gale and I got an gay scene where gale was a little too close to my charecter until I called it off.

i personally dislike most of the decisions made for bg3 but i try to judge its qualities as honest and objective as i can. I also had a scene with gale after act 1 when he wanted to celebrate your victory and liberating tieflings from horrors unleash, and before a patch the only options when speaking with him was "oh yes kiss me" and "fuck off faggot". it seems obvious to me that one of the core designs of BG3 companions was romance and fuckability., and i have a problem with that. being able to see the panties, genitals etc all came with that inherintly horny decicion.

-i dislike the idea of a sequal to a franchise that ended in a great manner only to be dragged along in a failed WOTC ip to gain cash
-i dislike the forgotten realms lore, the BG contuniuty that was forced upon this game
-i dislike the story
-i dislike the mechanics of 5e
-i dislike the design choices
-i dislike the companions and the philosophy behind them etc etc.
it is a fun game but for me it is just a mediocre game. in an age where ip's are shit, a normal game may be seem like a gold nugget, but it is not. if this was published in 2010' it would have recieve much less praise.

eh I respectfully disagree with you for all its flaws bg3 is still a fun game to play

Would this game have gotten as much fanfare if they didn't capitalize on the pornbrain? Genuinely, it seems every game with a hardcore fanbase always play two things simultaneously: Hardcore elitist min-maxing, and porn bait. Persona, Fire Emblem, most TTRPGs.

I mean fuck sake, 2-3 title updates with longer sex scenes as prime motivators? I see people talk of BG3 nonstop, yet it's all companion centric and act 1-2 at best. I've not had anything spoiled past act 2 cause nobody ever fucking talks about it, so I guess you screw before act 3 and people drop it?

it would not.
Pornofication is a very recent think in rpg's tbh (cannot know about the jrpg's though.). Bioware is partially responsible for it. But i never see that kind of pornbait interaction in nwn 2, arcanum etc. of course we have mass effect, vtmb etc but even Dragon age series became porn brain after 2014. neither origins or 2 is pornbait, and they are bioware games.

No, and you named franchises that evolved to chase that trend. Persona in particular.

I wish there was more talk of Act 3. Art for it could be awesome too, but it seems that yeah, people get to Rivington and just stop. It sucks.

Act 3 feels like an entirely different game, which makes sense in the way that in reality travelling through rural settings is vastly different from being in a big city.
People who fell in love with the Emerald Grove area aren't going to be as inspired by the Inner City Sewers, I guess.

Would there be more interest in finishing the game if there was a porn ending, or a wedding or something? I would put money on it.

I played since early access, almost the launch of it. For me, the companion romances and sex scenes were not the most important thing or even a consideration for my initial excitement. I came off of DO2 where I didn't romance anyone, so I wasn't expecting that to even be a major factor in this game. I do enjoy some of the romances, but I think the companions as a whole range from decent to great outside of their romance. Like Astarion - I'm not a fag, but his story is great overall and he is clearly gay and pushes at least once if he has a semi-high approval with you.

I do think they played into the coomer brain greatly. And it seems to have worked. I follow the Dragon Age Veilguard discourse on X and the vast majority of it is "who are you going to date first?" or "OMG I want to bang them all!" Fucking cringe ass shit. But at the end of the day its marketing. The bear sex with Halsin generated a lot of conversation and they leaned into it. In reality, like 5% of people did it? Maybe less.

That's really sad if true. Do I think Act 3 should have been Act 2 and 3? Yeah. But I love the city. Only real issue I have is that you max level shortly after getting into the city proper if you "do everything". They really need to consider rebalancing the level progression. That's not gonna happen, but one can dream.

A lot of game are going that route with romancing and stuff.

I've got mixed feelings on it.. I don't want to tell people what to write cause God knows we get enough of that already but it lures the coombrains and I hate reading the word dommy mommy or step on me and shit. If they released Viconia today there'd be nothing but pornbrains and shippers talking like that and I'm just so tired of them dominating RPG modern discussion.

And this might be unpopular but I wanted Larian to make DOS3 instead of Baldur's Gate 3. 5E DnD doesn't translate well to a video game and I've realized I'm not a fan of 1 action 1 move systems like xcom and such in comparison to AP systems.

Its crazy that wizard of the coast is losing money even with BG3 successes. they wont ask Larian to make a sequel because apparently the game was not gay enough for their standards.
Are these rumors or is there some report somewhere?
Asking because I've heard this before, but never found a source for the claims.

With luck Larian might uncancel that DOS2 sequel and actually deliver something. Fucking hell Larian, don't leave the series hanging like that.
