I'd put good money on whoever they get to make BG4, they'll end up making another Dragon Age 2. Get ready for a giant bait and switch everyone.
 
I suspect Hasbro wants no competition for their own online roleplaying platform.

DivinityOS 2 had a online DM mode but BG3 didn't, despite the similar engine and webcode.

Larian will be able to deliver their full vision for DOS3, without any idiot meddling or license fees

Just a few twitter likes by the sound of it; Libs of TikTok, some DeSantis no transing kids article, and also some Israel stuff. Bread and butter centre normie shit basically. And they're already pleading with Larian to remove him from the game and re-voice him. Astarion voice actor has severed ties with him. Shadowheart voice actor did a middle finder selfie with her girlfriend that seemed to be regarded as a retort.

No DLC is actually pretty surprising from my end. All the BG games got an expansion pack eventually, and with how Larian having Act 3 seemingly unfinished it would be a perfect opportunity to finish it and tie it with a bow.

On the other hand, no BG4 makes sense. The Bhaalspawn story is played out. BG is played out in general. Fucking make an adventure elsewhere; it's a huge world.

Guess WOTC isn't interested in more profits. I hope Hasbro lays off the entire division.

I honestly thought we were going to see some of the canceled content. Like traveling through Avernus and the Upper City. What a shame.

There's a pathfinder. And they're have Divinity games, which are internal products. I am not worried. Hope they can improve on bg3 and make some great divinity game after it

I bet they threw in a bunch of retarded stipulations too. Don't have any racial tension, you have to be able to troon out in game, strong woman of color etc etc etc.

They're better off looking somewhere else anyway. I never really liked the divinity setting but the games were fun. There's also a ton of other rpgs and settings out there. Imagine if they got handed the keys to Warhammer Fantasy and just went balls to the wall.

Shame about Hasbro though, Larian doing Planescape Torment 2 or something in Dark Sun would be peak. Shame Hasbro is full of fags that are just holding on to the Dark Sun IP despite stating that it's too problematic to ever do anything with it.
 
5E is a snooze fest so I'm glad they're moving away from DnD. I think WotC is probably a bigger source of contention than Hasbro, but I haven't kept up with ttrpg news in awhile. DnD lore has been pozzed for awhile now and it's only going to get worse. That's probably why they have a stranglehold on Eberron and Dark Sun since they haven't been "updated" for current year and thus are problematic. I've heard that they butchered the Ravenloft with the new Curse of Strahd modules. WotC can also burn in hell after the bullshit they tried to pull with DnD's Open Gaming License (25% royalty fees on $750+ lol they definitely tried to screw Larian over as well).

BG3 did have racial tensions with the Teefling refugees squating in the grove. Problem is, they actually showed some of them to be ungrateful and thieves, which must have hurt their DEI.
Trooning out? You might be able to do it via the mirror, but I haven't checked. Florrick's bodyguard was a female Africanesque warriorwoman with the best sword for that stage, but she ended up getting captured when she bit off more than she could chew.

Diversity doesn't make a bad game, as long as there is more to the character then their 'disadvantage group' status.

That's what I meant, they saw all of these things and bitched about it and told Larian not to do it again. That's my guess at least.
 
Yeah, given what I’ve heard of current WOTC, them cutting ties is the best thing for Larian.
