Dragon Age Origins
50% of the romance options were Bi though. Idk if I'd count the only 2 straight people as any sort of win or glory days. Especially when theyre only not player sexual because of story reasons. Can't have a faggot Alistair because a king needs a queen if you go that route, and Morrigan can't get knocked up by a woman if you go with her solution to the archdemon

I still haven’t played Origins because my pc can’t or won’t run it. It’s irritating because I want to try it.

it's so old it should run pretty much on everything by now. don't think it even has copy protection or anything (been a while since I played it). what's the issue?

tbh it never really mattered, since most people only play the game once and move on after they finish it - if they even finish it.
the difference now is that back then it was never really a literal weeb harem eroge with LET'S SEE HOW MANY OF MY COMPANIONS I CAN FUCK, more a logical extension of characters and their writing. this whole "alien-fuck-simulator" thing became mainstream somewhere around ME1/ME2, till then it was mainly contained to cringy posts in the bioware forums, but now is the norm for everything that has companions.

ofc the crappy writing doesn't help where it feels like it's written by some fat tumblr woman whose last male touch was getting slapped by her dad... even fucking fujos write better cringekino.

I curse my lack of knowledge on how to get shit to work on a computer.

Yeah, I got the same speech. I was just there to ruthlessly massacre heathens, heretics, journos, and especially that circus troon in act III as a vengeance paladin. Then the game had the audacity to label me an “Oath Breaker” when I smote the first devil men I came across in act I.

It is really weird how the devs for BG3 handled Paladins and their oaths; in the game itself, Oathbreakers were Paladins who did, indeed, break their oaths... but did so explicitly to gain dark power, often via sacrificing innocents or making pacts with demons. If the game was being more realistic, massacring troons and similar ought to be encouraged as a Paladin, especially given some of the fucked up shit their "community" does IRL. If anything, it kinda indicates that the "evil" powers in the world of Baldur's Gate are the "good" ones, allowing violence towards troons and their ilk, while the supposed "good guys" are really the villains backing the degenerates.

But, that's just me being autistic; I doubt Larian really thought how it would look... right? /sneed

Real talk, though; it is really stupid how they handled Paladin oaths this go around. Hell, I know a friend of mine who has the game, and he doesn't ever even run Paladin given how easy the oaths are to break. It's a bit discouraging; I mean, Ancients and Devotion Paladins don't really kill on a whim, but at the very least Vengeance should have some leeway on how they operate.

I fucking love it and definitely recommend it to anyone. I think it's a must play.

True. And at least the 2 bi options made sense character wise.

DA2 is where all but one of the available romances was bi. Sebastion was the only straight companion, and he was also the only one without a horse & buggy load of baggage coincidentally.

Inquisition actually did better than both games. 8 romance options. 4 of which are straight with 2 of those having race preferences(human/elf and elf only respectively). 2 were bi and down to suck & fuck any race. And 2 were hard-line faggots. Of course the game itself is arguably the worst in the series. But I guess it's the best meet & fuck Sim so... golf clap?

And of course the forums(and reddit) are still bitching about companions having any preferences at all :story:
.

New patch is fixing the bug with scripted cutscenes targeting non-play characters, fixes for Shield Bash and Rebuke of the Mighty, and letting you dismiss a companion while reciting the new one(rather than having to dismiss them go talk to the one you want to add).

Inspired by Goth GF from Synthetic Man's Dragon's Dogma playthrough, I decided to make my own. I edited one of my hirelings and came up with this:

The Dragon Age approach added more variety in stories. Dorean's homosexuallity explained why he fell out with his wizard bloodline obsessed father. It'd diminish the whole point if FemInquisitor was so super awesome to be his one exception.

Playersexual is unrealistic, but it goes hand in hand with the chosen one being the centre of everything. Gamers don't play to be rejected.

CP77 was a bit weird, making the straight only characters all Amerindian and the gay characters all Fillipeno. Their sexualities made sense though, Gay Kerry was silently obsessed with the man who's ghost ended up partially possessing the player. It's like his lost love came back to life.

Judy had obsessions of her own, that would make a male player romancing her not mesh.

If the game was being more realistic, massacring troons and similar ought to be encouraged as a Paladin,
The Yuan Shao school of fighting corruption.
Around September 189, the eunuchs hatched a plot to assassinate China's leading general He Jin. They issued a fake imperial order in Empress Dowager He's name, instructing He Jin to enter the palace to meet her. On 22 September 189, He Jin fell into an ambush and died at the hands of the eunuchs, who declared him guilty of treason. After He Jin's death, his subordinates Wu Kuang (吳匡) and Zhang Zhang (張璋), along with Yuan Shao, Yuan Shu and others, led their troops to storm the palace and kill the eunuchs in revenge. They indiscriminately slaughtered anyone who looked like a eunuch; some young men who had no facial hair, in desperation, dropped their pants in front of the soldiers to prove that they were not eunuchs.
Seriously though, some dilemmas have a different non-oathbreaking response for each subclass. So easy to break.
letting you dismiss a companion while reciting the new one
Excellent, my biggest annoyance with the game has finally been fixed
I hit play on steam
Have you tried the GoG version?
Pirating a game you've already paid for from a studio that effectively doesn't exist to get a working product is the most justifiable form of piracy.

So, a few funny happenstances cascaded in my Sneed playthrough.

I decided to be a good Durge this game.
I saved the grove and the druids and recruited Halsin.
Saved Minthara too and currently romancing her.
All seems good until...

I decide not kill Isobel at Last Light Inn. Resisted the Durge.
When it came time for Marcus to kidnap her, I killed him.
However, one of the ghouls wound up paralyzing her while another killed her.
Last Light Inn was destroyed. 😭

Jaheira demands to know what happened and I tell her the truth.
Jaheira dies to the shadows.
I think the Shadowlands is screwed, but Halsin tells me I can just talk to the dude's corpse and get the info about Thaniel there.
We save Thaniel.
LLI is fallen, but I can still remove the Shadow Curse. Who'd a thunk it?

But here's where it gets hilarious...

Long rest and Durge wakes up. I didn't kill Isobel so I gotta kill my romance partner.
...except the whole cutscene skips!
Later I talk to Minthara and she's like, "Good job resisting, but don't let it happen again."
WTF?!
Much later I fight Ketheric and Isobel is there, under his control.
I focus all attacks on Ketheric, leave Isobel alone. Maybe I can save her!
Avatar of Myrkul is dead! Now if I can just knock Isobel out...
Nope!
Isobel just dies on the spot. Bleargh!
Game thinks I killed her.

Next long rest on the way to Baldur's Gate, narrator says I murdered Isobel.
My butler arrives, congratulates me, and I get the Slayer form!
WHAT?!

Eager to see how the rest plays out in Act III.

Don’t be dissing my bro Wyll, Blade of the Frontiers. He’s the only black man I’ve seen who can wield his sword eloquently.
Hey there was the guy in Blade, he'll show you bladework just let him in the room with Astarion.
Same here. My “guardian” was a woman, which made his sexual advances even more creepy. Like he was obviously trying to catfish me.
Nick Rekiete mod when? MANdy!

I think the game would have been better for having way more "choose your quest reward" (I think I only had it once in the first act) and loot pools biased towards your party classes. Going over the game with a literal laundry list of quests is pretty annoying. Also having the camp be a menu instead of "where the fuck is shart" will also do wonders for my sanity.

Not really relevant to anything I said in the post you're quoting, and I even went on to say how DA did romances better by the time of inquisition anyway. You're replying as if I'm advocating for playersexuality when I'm not. I'm doing the opposite and complaining that the only two Hetero choices in DA:O are only Hetero for Main Plot reasons, and not because the characters are just straight. Like I said, you can't have Alistair be a faggot king and Morrigan can't have an Archdemon baby with a woman, so they HAVE to be straight for these things to happen.

That's just pathetic on that type of gamers part, then. I guess these types spend so much time being rejected IRL they couldn't possibly stand to have it happen in a game where it means less than nothing?

How long have these things been issues only to just now be getting a fix?

The first has been an issue since Divinity: Original Sin 2. Something engine specific I wager. I wouldn't hold my breath in them fixing it just yet. (Bets on it breaking something in MP instead).

The Shield Bash/Rebuke thing has been broken in one of the patch (I think since the epilogue patch). It certainly has been a few months at least.

The last probably dates back to engine design decisions again. (DOS2 worked much the same way the first act, then the game solves the "problem" by killing off all potential companions that isn't in your party.) This one at least, I'm glad they fixed.

Next patch they're fixing that.
There should be a release this week, I just want a photo mode and hopefully one where it is dynamic for machinamation purposes. Would love to record an honor mode playthrough game play using AI voice acting and a custom party that is "trapped" in a lich's spell and must complete BG3 in order to be released.
