The Greek alphabet takes like a day of practice to learn if you aren't a complete sped.

More tricky is the accent system and verb morphology, which contains such gems as the middle voice and aorist tense.

trying to figure out gyros-glyphs is still an extra step compared to literally using the latin alphabet.
and as you said there's still accents and all that jazz, same that makes french so much fun for lot of people (and that might just be my experience, but french teachers all seem to be a little weird for some reason).
 
Okay so last night my Tavitha had just gotten around to being invisible and sneaking into Wyrm's Crossing, then bringing everyone else in through the waypoint.
We talked to people, killed people (you know normal stuff) then camped. Shadowheart wanted to go swimming and get sand in some unmentionable places, so we did that.
Then we went over to the brothel and got with the drow twins, bringing Halsin along so the poor man wouldn't be bored or anything.
Then just for the hell of it we camped again. Halsin wanted us to go fuck in the woods or whatever the exact dialog was, I can't quite remember at the moment. So we did that.
What I'm wondering is, are there any 7-Elevens in this area? Tavitha's gonna need some Tylenol and an energy drink or two before taking on whatever's next.

Funny thing about that. If you play Shart as an origin character and you get to the boat scene in the sewers, the boat is sunk and your characters are forced to swim to shore. Turns out, Shart knows how to swim! And she was even wearing a full suit of armor in my playthrough. Seems like an oversight, but there it is.

No no, they’re technically all bi, so any PC can romance them. Only a couple of the characters will let you fuck other characters with no issues. Most get pretty pissed off about it if you try.

Karlach, I think. But as soon as I discovered her, I dropped the other two like a bad habit, so I'm not sure.

This is one of my most fucking hated modern RPG trends. Player-sexuals need to be gassed. It removes a massive facet of a character, and limits their writing in so many fashions. How does this character deal with uncomfortable situations? How does this character treat a brother in arms?

Shit, it even fucks it up for faggots, because no companion can be gay anymore. Asterion is gayer than 10 guys fucking 9 guys. The fact that my femTav can fuck him is just wrong. And the fact that the alphabet brigade isn't pissed off about this would be shocking. After all, now, they can't claim him.

It would be shocking, if anyone flying a pride flag wasn't dumber than the flag itself.

No, what I mean is Halsin is very specifically poly. He talks about how he doesn’t believe in relationships and everyone should be free to explore entanglements with others. Other characters will dump you if you sleep with other people, but Halsin shrugs it off.

He’s also one of the few who’s eager to sleep with the Drow twins, guy is super horny. I turned him down when he came onto me in my first playthrough, but I appreciate that he’s so open to sharing if you do decide to go poly with him.

As a fellow straight woman I agree personally, but the BG3 subreddit is full of women (seemingly real women, not troons) thirsting for Astarion. I don't get it.

I initially didn't realize everyone in this game is pansexual and I had sort of assumed a Bioware-esque system where say Wyll/Shadowheart/Minthara are straight, Gale/Lae'zel/Jaheira/Halsin are bi, and Karlach/Astarion are gay. It just seemed natural so when Astarion started coming on to my female gnome I was a little taken aback.

At least your companions in BG2 had standards. From what I recall, if you were any of the short races, you were locked out of all romance options. Viconia, in particular, had a disdain for surface elves and wouldn't romance the PC if he was one.

I was playing Rogue Trader (mild romance spoilers) and there's a shut-in noble character who gets all her information about the outside world from books and this made her a hopeless romantic. At the very first interaction with her after she joins your team there's a book on the table that she was reading, and if you examine it you discover it's a sappy book about woo. Hours of playtime later she "accidentally" drops a silk handkerchief in front of you and if you roll an awareness check you see she's secretly looking at how you react. I remembered the book she was reading and acted out one of its corny moves and she was ecstatic. It surprised me and was kind of a sweet moment. If you're romancing her and at any point come on to her sexually she gets really angry and storms off because she wants a Jane Austen courtship. In contrast I was constantly pissing off my teammates in BG3 and not only did they all still want to fuck me, but told me I'm like no man they've ever met and that they're deeply in love with me.

The whole thing was such a difference from Baldur's Gate 3 and the FOMO that drives its romances. I wish RPGs would stick to this sort of writing, cut the apron strings and let you fuck up relationships when you're unintuitive or not paying attention, and reward you for taking notes. It makes the writing so much more impactful.
