I'm okay with this. Baldi may be meme garbage, but in terms of effort put into it and having legitimately interesting gameplay mechanics it's head and shoulders above 99.99999% of indie horror games.

It is a parody of the early creepy edutainment games like Sonic's Schoolhouse as well as the indie horror genre in general (Like one of the blackboards had "Insert Lore Here" to poke fun at how people are taking a meme game seriously and the game itself isn't even horrific to begin with, the only jumpscare is just Baldi and even then you can expect him to give you a "jumpscare")
 
I like the fact that the creator made this game as a rush job. But received attention for meme sake. The game was a shitpost. And the thing that gets me is just like FNAF there is a dedicated section of Fan Game creators. Which are always free.
 
I wouldn't high balled this at about 20k not 50 that's a bit nuts, but I'm rooting for this guy. If he can squeeze pennies out of dipshits for this game I'm not ashamed to say I'm jealous. Just hope he's actually going full in on it and not just milking people for actually nothing.
 
I think the guy has a ton of passion, plus is just a simple dude coming from college who likes to make games. He even said it himself he just wants to make one big game and that's is.

I don't get a Scott Cawthon vibe from him, hes just a dude who likes to make games and makes them well. Nothing wrong with that.

If he had set it at $25-30K, it would have been an easy win, but $50K for a game as inherently niche as this was pushing it too far. I’m a little disappointed, I would have liked to see what he could have done with a full game.
 
I'm sure there are a few shadow investors waiting in the wings.

But seriously I'm glad he made it. Just hope he really doesn't take the money and run. And it is made into something worth $50,000 unlike most kickstarted games.

I'll wish the dev good luck in making his dream come true.

I kind of hope it becomes a reality so I can laugh at the lolcow gamedevs who haven't got their games released and got it later than a meme game from a dev with not much experience.

Cows tend to have very poor judgement and a chronic inability to plan ahead effectively. This dev has already demonstrated that he can put out a complete game with complex mechanics with nothing but exposure as the reward. I have no doubt the final game will be leagues better than anything the dangerhair coalition is capable of making.
