I still love how Blobby is modeled after how a real life one looks when it's been hauled up from the bottom of the ocean, causing its body to basically collapse. It's a rotting, mutilated corpse is what I'm saying.
Poor blobfish. Not that it's particularly great looking before it's exploded from pressure, but at least it doesn't look like Zoe Quinn.

That tranny did a comic about that, where their always-right mouthpiece was put in the ocean and turned into the normal form, and both it and its genderqueer friend were horrified.

Which I mean considering this a danger-hair tranny, both their self-inserts being triggered by their natural appearance and not the one that is them having massive tissue damage from being forced into an unnatural environment is one HELL of a Freudian slip.

Out of all the bad webcomics I've stumbled across, the queen of horrifyingly bad webcomics I have encounted, is one web comic series from the Web 1.0 days, known as Hathor: The Cow Goddess.

The comic is mostly lost (thankfully), but the sour memories live on on Bad Webcomics Wiki and Encyclopedia Dramatica (NOTE: The ED images are broken, for better or for worse):

Heather "Hathor" Cushman-Dowdee reminds me a lot of Tess Holliday the skankfat and Lividlipids the sadfat, if both fats were instead a lanky, oily haired, nu hippie "helicopter mom". The only thing I never saw Tess or Livid did, that separates them from "Hathor", is being obsessed with breast feeding and breast milk. But other than that, their personalities are almost eerily identical. I bet Hathor's kids are just as messed up as Tess's and Livid's kids. Sigh.. :-(

I dunno if anyone else here as come across the misfortune to read this swill back in the web 1.0 days...

If I remember anymore web comic oddities from the web 1.0 days. I'll come back to report, because those were goldmines of cringe back in the days.

I "fondly" remember Hathor and how nutty she started getting near the end of her comic to the point that she no longer advocated for midwives and instead wanted women to give birth alone in the forests like they did in the past. I'm guessing she's now going/gone through menopause so that probably put a damper on her breastfeeding crusade.

I'm interested in what happened to her kids. I know one of them didn't learn to read until she was 8.

Also, she was STILL breastfeeding her kids, in PUBLIC, when they were not babies anymore. WTF indeed.

Also, Unschooling is a total crock. Yeah right mothers like her, Tess, and Livids support this to protect their kids from big bad bullies and strangers. They probably support unschooling as a power play with grooming their kids into Stockholm Syndrome, learned co-dependency, and stunted mental growth, so these hags can "All be Mommies forever".

That is what Unschooling comes off as to me. It's like something out of a psychological horror film really.

I heard she disowned at least one.

I know the Merryweathery conversation is over but here's my two cents on the guy. I had a brief interaction with him on FunnyJunk, yknow that obscure shitty meme website, and even then I knew something about him just clonked my bonkers, besides his content ONLY ever being something to do with smug and/or sadistic anime girls. Now I'm happier than I care to admit upon learning he was kind of shitty.

I thought this was the bad webcomics thread?

It is absolutely terrible. That comic is nothing but white males, not a single genderfluid xir in sight, no BIPOC representation and not a single mention of black lives matter. Posting that comic is the same as genociding over 6 million black and brown bodies via police brutality, which that comic also does nothing to address. I am oppressed having read it.

And don't get me started on the lack of asexuality representation, which is made all the more tragic given that the author clearly never has, and never will, have sex. A sad case of internalized sexuarchy.

I know everyone here already knows XKCD is worse than cancer, but I made the dire mistake of checking in just now and good God has he been on a tear lately. I knew he'd have some really stupid takes on the pandemic, but I didn't expect him to cover it for 19 comics in a row.

Christ, the faggots who write explainxkcd are almost as insufferable as Creepy Randall himself.

Today's XKCD comic isn't even a comic, it's just another text-only one, full of polls from questionable news sources. Perfect Reddit bait, as usual:

Remember when he used to do comics about pop science shit that would explain things in an interesting and approachable way? Remember when he used to update his What if? page? Yeah, fuck all that shit, it's time to piss and moan about politics and the pandemic 24/7, with the occasional joke for everyone in the audience with @BoxerShorts47 IQ levels.
I seriously feel like munroe is just pretending to be a political sperg to advance his career. He is perfectly capable of making funny comics but instead he probably makes low effort stuff like this because it gets shared on reddit more or just as much as anything "high effort". Plus stuff he has said in his condescending political comics contradict what he has said in the past.

xckd 743 where munroes self insert warns about big tech being evil and having a monopoly.
free_speech.png

xckd 1357 where munroe defends these companies banning people despite knowing how much of a monopoly they have in the tech world.

Of course I might be thinking too much into this but if munroe is a super smart nasa scientist™ Then he probably isnt dumb, he just doesnt care.

I used to like the really huge infographics full of actual fun facts.

I love that the artist went through the trouble to make the letters in "bisexuality" "pansexuality" and "lgbt" different colors but couldn't be bothered to give his characters fingers.

Having the knowledge that the blobfish is dead and this child is dragging around a bloated fish corpse has made reading this comics a completely different experience.

Who the fuck says “ugh more taco trucks?” This strawman doesn’t even exist. If you make a racist strawman for your dumb comic, don’t make them racist towards a universally beloved food.

Maybe this universe's neighborhood is saturated with taco trucks or there are taco turf wars and she's tired to see blood running on the street due to all the intense taco violence.
Whatever it is it would make a better comic.

When your comic is a flood of word balloons - and tables - with tiny character heads in the corner of the panel, what's the point in making it a comic rather than another forgettable blog post?
