I don’t think he minds. He seems pretty thrilled he unintentionally made the newest meme. Hell, he memed it himself recently.
Good. I don't think he's a horrible person, he just makes a bland, dopey, unoffensive comic. I think being memed will turn out to be a good thing for him.

I know I'm probably going to get powerleveled for it, but who cares? Ten years ago, when I was finishing college, I did a three-part comic strip about the types of comedians that are considered popular these days (especially if you watch Comedy Central for anything other than South Park and maybe the occasional Futurama or Archer rerun). The artwork sucks, but the humor is there...

Those of you who are familiar with Brooke McEldowney's newspaper strip, 9 Chickweed Lane, might know about it's sister comic, Pibgorn (which is a webcomic). The series started off okay even though the stories ran a little long, the dialogue was pretentious, I don't get why anyone would fall for the dull, uptight and humorless Geoff and it tried to be intellectual and failed. Somewhere about 2009 the comic in the "Pibgorn and the Volcano on 77th Street and Park Avenue" arc it started its gradual decline into badness...
I remember 9CL back when I was at Comics Curmudgeon (it was where I also found out about Sonichu, courtesy of someone deciding to submit it as a joke to a nationally syndicated children's comic strip and they ran it). But yes, 9CL was all sorts of awful with awful storylines, focus on legs and bodies but then just a scribble for a face, and culminating in a point where there was a whole week of a talking asshole puppet representing critics.

That's not hyperbole, a literal talking asshole.

Just wanted to update a little on Ava's Demon: the comic has since been updating a little more frequently, which is great.

... But the story still feels like it's moving at a now semi-glacial pace and she's since hired a supporting colorist to help with updates. Which in of itself is a nice development, but the art doesn't look quite as eye catching as it did compared to some of the earlier panels and feels a little flatter in comparison.

Ah, the CC with Pope Josh, Mary Worth's platitudes, and Margo's evil. Halcyon days to be sure.

I'm sure there was someone at CWCki Forums at the time who was also on CC. I think I probably was there from 2010-2012, and I think I got bored. There's only so much of Mary Worth's salmon squares, FW's smugness, Spider-Man's D-list villains, etc. you can take.

I can't honestly remember when or why I drifted away, but I always loved reading it.

The series nearly all the women are either bitter old battle axes or over-sexed, self-absorbed, vindicitive, petty, aggressive, violent nymphos.

There are two supporting colorists. I remember there was a different person not too long ago (Silas? I think their name was), and now there are two new ones. I wonder what happened to the first.

It seems like these colorists do final linework too, because yes, a lot of the art is flatter. :autism: under the cut, it's been bugging me for a few months.
Like, here's Maggie's lovingly rendered yaoi hand

And here's the very next panel, with a much smaller, less detailed hand

Sometimes the coloring is artistically messy, with hatching and varied lines, which I believe is Michelle's work
1958.png
And sometimes it's a little too smooth and precise, like an assistant did it

Don't get me wrong, I love all the artwork, and kudos to Michelle for asking for help in order to deliver these updates mostly weekly. It's just so jarring to notice these color-style shifts in the middle of updates. Like, maybe they could do the flats and she could add the details, at least? Maybe no one really notices or cares, and I'm just exceptional.

Story is ridiculously slow though. She needs to drop this "storyboard movie script" style, it leads to a lot of unnecessary content. Like one panel is Odin's foot just making it inside, and the next is the door closing. Did we need to take up 2/10 panels just for that?

Really, if it wasn't for the outstanding art, no one would give this comic any attention.

Yeah, I loved the blog too, but after awhile you just end up...stopping.

Catching up with it would be an ordeal. You'd have to go through a lot of glacial, awkward dinner parties on Mary Worth before you'll get to the really crazy stuff like Tommy the Tweaker.

And Apartment 3G is no longer in production. Sad times we live in.

Ah, that takes me back. I remember starting to follow CC around Aldomania and the dunks he'd make on Funky Winkerbean and For Better or For Worse. I stopped following CC ages ago, because he kinda ran his course in my eyes: there's only so many riffs you can make on Mary Worth, Rex Morgan, Pluggers, or Mark Trail until you're able to do them with ad libs and/or they stop being funny.

Shit! "More zippers, mule!" will always be one of my favorite A3G moments.
