For the hell of it, here’s some of Croco-chan’s story proper. Not the whole thing because it’s so damn long (like 120 panels), just the panels that felt most relevant.
First, she was getting shit for being a strong crocodile girl in a mostly human society(? Idk, almost everyone else is a gray blob a la Anonymous Asexual). Also her mom is dead and her dad is probably a casual murderer.

Then she gets traumatized and paranoid after devouring a stereotypical mugger, and her dad kinda barely does shit to remedy that.

Skipping over most of the story with Margarine and getting right to the whole sexual harassment and retaliation murder climax.

I know that in the context of this universe I should be glad that a sex pest is dead, but somehow I keep thinking “Come on, it can’t be that easy”. And it probably isn’t considering the last panel of this says “To be continued…”
Once again, some part of me is having a hard time taking this seriously. I could blame it on art style dissonance, but I don’t think it’s impossible to work with that. I love Dreaming Mary, and that’s a (mostly) cute looking horror game about a girl diving into her dreams to escape the reality of being molested by her father. I guess I could chalk it up to the writing and super simplistic character designs.

I love when a story focuses on a character being harassed and insulted for 'Blah blah blah, societal beauty standards' and we're supposed to be disgusted; only for the story to lowkey agree with the insults because the artist erases said trait 90% of the time to make the character just a cute little gator. Why do we only see the muscles when it's supposed to be a horrific scene? Does the writer want us to associate the character having muscles and being strong with horrific murder?

There's no need to blue-curtain these types of comics. It's the same reused trope we've seen a million times where the joke is that the protagonist inflicts some brutal punishment on a strawman and we're supposed to clap.
Crocodile does girly-girl things....and then murders someone, but it's ok! because they were [insert -ism here]
Does anyone still have the Kathe Leth comic where her detractor/strawman was taken away to a garbage can by eagles for having the audacity of disagreeing with her?

Dreaming Mary sounds like it has a direction.

This on the other hand has no idea what it wants to be. It's not like the first season or two of Aggretsuko whereby it stuck with its characters acting "real." I stopped watching after the second, but you could take them seriously despite the cutesy style because their personalities were fleshed out enough that they felt real, which was part of the point. That companies and society bottom text are designed to keep people in roles, that everyone has hidden sides and reasons for acting the way they do, not just you. Croco-chan does the opposite; it relies on horror and shock value, then lets it fall flat with "oh it's okay, he was a bad person!" Okay, and? It feels like borderline wish-fulfilment fantasy because these characters are barely even characters at all. They're plot devices, yet the closest to a real personality is Croco-chan herself. You can tell she hates herself for what she did, but, does it matter? When you loop like this without anything coming of it, does it really matter?

To be a little fair, I did leave out two huge chunks about her friendship with Margarine, which involved more things about her struggle with wanting to be cute and feminine despite the way she looks. Which included more paranoia horror and freaking out when Margarine put her in a dress. Just because the comic is formatted in a way that’s horrible for sharing on Kiwi Farms. But when you put it like that, I’m thinking omitting it really doesn’t matter much in the long run.

Bad move. If you liked seasons 1 & 2, you'll like Season 3. You have to deal with some REVELEANT SOCIAL COMMENTARY about Japan's idol culture, but unless you are japanese it'll mostly slide past you minus a couple "WE. HAVE. AN. IMPORTANT. MESSAGE.TO.SHARE." moments where you are hit over the head.
But it gives you moments like this:

The end of the season and the Hyena Guy's arcs are absolute ass, and over all its not quite as good, but its still overall solid and enjoyable if you liked the first 2. Season 4 is hot garbage I have heard.

Okay, so Tats is doing a new arc where Slick writes a story ala Maleficent, Wicked and Cruella where Hitler is reimagined as the hero. So, basically he's just throwing out any pretense of subtlety and just going on about how much he wishes he was white. And that whites are the superior race. I guess the dude in plaid is what he wishes he actually looked like instead of being Japanese.

If I didn't know that Tats was having a White Nationalism meltdown on the heels of his feminism meltdown, I would probably say that was pretty based and the sort of joke South Park would make before the creators soyed out.

The saddest irony of the newest season is the fact that South Park used to be the show you turn on to get away from reality and politics.

As far as bad webcomics go, I've been into the occasional manhwa and there's a few established tropes there. The Korean bullying trope where the target gets ridiculously overpowered and seeks brutal revenge is a tired one that makes for some fairly bad storytelling and characterization.

The protagonist only exists to be a punching bag and voodoo doll for all of the author's grievances against the world, which in hand justifies whatever violent revenge fantasies he can dream up of. Kind of reminds me of Sonichu after it stopped being about the title character.

I'm not saying that certain tropes can't be a subject or component of a good comic, but I honestly wish that people would do something different with them at least occasionally.

All the Asian comics have their own variations on the exact same tropes with maybe 5 in each genre that either rise above the tropes or do something unique with the concept. But because they aren't the exact same tropes that pervade western media it takes a little longer to get sick of them becasue they haven't been shoved down your throat for two decades.

K-Manga/Webtoons are the worst because of about zero quality control for writing and, i'm assuming due to the animation industry, serviceable-to-decent art so you can't get a founderface sniff test to figure out if this worth your time. Mainly I just hate the infinite scroll they use.

As far as I'm concerned, South Park made that retarded Obama election night special, then they decided they had became the very thing they were mocking and ended the series producing no further episodes since.

I mean, doing the opposite doesn’t do wonders. Having the character show off his triple chins and fat rolls during a horrific scene only makes it comedic.

It’s moreso the joke that it’s a cutesy thing doing horrific thing, and that’s supposed to be introversive, edgy and out there, something clever, witty and introspective. While in reality, it’s the most bland and boring way of doing edgy writing and the subversion was already expected from the beginning.

I thought they didn’t produce anymore episodes after 2016, how odd! They should’ve done something with Trump or something seeing as they’re very witty comedic writers. Oh well.

The worst part is that I can see it now: Cartman decides to fuck with Kyle and starts chatting white nationalists online to start a flash mob outside of Kyle's house but when the event happens it's just a single middle aged asian man screaming in a Mikey Rourke accent , "I am whitel than you. You mutt! One dlop lule. Heil Hitlel. You go gas chambel NAO!". And everything ends with Stan pretending to be the emperor and telling him the war is over and he can go home.

It's a shitty premise but on par with old South Park.

Oh it's clever, witty and introversive if you're a time traveler from 1984 but after 4 decades of every deconstruction under the sun this reads like another safe-edgy excrement made by a millenial with Peter Pan syndrome.
