So, I play a game called Workers and Resources: Soviet Republic. Dodgy politics aside, it's a good game with well polished features.
It also has a very extensive modding community. Let's take a look at one that I consider to be quite the egregious little shit, shall we?

A good while ago now, a fellow called Mauser_NATO made this collection of buildings. It was quite popular because of it's extensive features, but there was a problem: it looked like garbage. So, me and a few others decided that we'd reskin them so they looked new, instead of their trademark "chernobyl fresh". Obviously, being respectful and decent fellows, we asked Mauser's permission before doing this, as at the time we thought it was his work.

And he didn't mind. Jackpot. So, we begin to work away on it and when it's done, we pat ourselves on the back and upload it to steam. A few days later, we get a comment from ol' Mausie.

Apparently, despite the fact that he gave us permission in good faith, he did not give us permission. I'm not sure if this guy knows how permission works. You can see my bro here being diplomatic as possible to resolve the situation and keep everything frosty but unfortunately hacks the world over aren't known for being reasonable. And you can see that his comments are tagged as [author]. This is because we credited him heavily because we thought it was his work (in retrospect we should have credited GSC game worlds, and we're about to get to that!) to the point where we made his original pack required so he'd get the subs aswell and we even offered to make him a contributor so he'd still be author. So, we did a little digging.

We found that a lot of this guy's work is taken directly from the game S.T.A.L.K.E.R. , and as you can see this car he released is identical right down to the rust spots on the texture. He also ripped off buildings aswell, as you can see in the following images, these models are Identical save for a few texture re-touches to hide obvious damage that would look out of place, such as the caved in roof. Here you can see the long apartment at the back, multiple iterations of the smaller apartments in the foreground and the taller, cubic apartments in the background on the left. All of these buildings feature in his packs in one way or another.

But steam is filled with asset-flippers, and many have committed the crime of blatantly ripping someone off. Why is this guy different?
Because like all heinous individuals, he is a furry. And like all furries, he has to express that. Behold, the furry retexture mod. Look upon his works ye sane and despair!

Obviously, many people responded negatively to this shitfuckery. Who knew that expressing being a horrible degenerate with bad art skills will attract derision on the internet? And for his critics, he had a fun little surprise, portraying them with a quasi-strawman in badly drawn comics on the mod page itself.

And all this comes after we asked him specifically and directly for permission, and he granted it to us. We treated him with respect and dignity and he still felt it necessary to throw it in our faces. So here he is: Mauser_NATO. A liar, a thief, and a scoundrel.
