Any examination of this sudden concern over human trafficking reveals that it's more of a moral panic than anything. This shit is hilariously similar to the sudden concerns about white slavery at the beginning of last century too.

Oh, so some good old fashioned nativism then? This century is increasingly playing out like last one, just with no wars between major powers, since that means game over.
Sometimes it's hard not just throw up my hands and check out of all of this shit, but there's really no alternative but to keep dealing with this shit that governments and big companies want to put out there. At this point we may just have to consider some data off limits for harvesting, or ban correlating data from disparate sources.

Craiglist also went down because there were lots of hookers on it and a new law by Congress said that websites that hosted that shit would be legally responsible for that happening. Reddit also took down a bunch of hooking subreddits as well.

It surprised me that Backpages lasted this long because Backpages was *purely* nothing but hookers
