how does this equate to the news coverage post hoc? there seems to be a vocabulary they uphold
such as avoiding the use of terms like terrorism or the mention of islamism.

This is obviously rather inappropriate to say, but I must say, it is a BIT amusing - after all, we were bombarded with media fearmongering about violence breaking out in the US because of the election, but that's yet to happen.

My guess would be that it's someone who's taken up Erdogan's call to arms. Populists, sure, they're bad, but populists who try to appeal to international audiences as well? Worse.

If not, well, it wouldn't too surprising I suppose. Normal right-wing terrorism is notable for having more organisation and planning behind it, as we saw with that wackjob in Germany, Christchurch, even as far back as McVeigh.

Maybe that's why they're trying to 'shut it down'. Because of the general confusion all the posting about it on social media is causing, alongside the other reasons previously provided in this thread. Especially in a densely packed city like Vienna.

It's not like they're holed up in a single building or taking hostages, after all, where the 'open source' journalism would be much less frazzled.
