Man scorn was such a disappointment. What was it, five years of dev time at least and we get a 3 hour puzzle game with light body horror elements? The fuck happened to the alien meat world that actually seemed promising?

It all went into the art book. I believe there are rumors there were internal changes in the dev cycle that led to it taking so long and not allowing for more world building in game vs the art book.

I'm pretty much only aware of this game because I follow an artist that's made content already. It looks interesting but I have a sneaking suspicion it's going to be like the majority of Focus Home published games where it needs about 3-6 months of post release patches to be worthwhile.

On the other hand, FH also published Hardspace Shipbreaker, which was really good on launch after the early access period so who knows.

The game looks cool from what the trailers and gameplay show and I might get it if it's actually decent. My main worry is that it will be a buggy busted mess and unplayable on release. Not even because it's made by Slavs, most big games these days seem to ship in an unplayable state and take years to patch to the level of not being broken.

It will be on game pass at launch.

99% of the time I'm lucky with completely busted games so I never have any issues.

It's funny because most of the "STALKER devs" aren't even the original devs from back then. Those guys left and became the Metro devs. The ones we have now were the same assclowns who thought adding NFTs to STALKER 2 was a good idea, so I don't have any faith these hohols would have done the series justice.

I'd say they already fucked up because in the last trailer they put out, people actually gave it a magnifying glass study and it clearly shows that the whole trailer is just staged from pieces of locations they quickly put together with the use of Unreal 5, how the AI clearly wasn't coded and the NPC was just put in static poses to shoot guns at the player in the said trailer, a lot of misspelling of words and this beauty. This is supposed to be a model of a female STALKER.

Yup there's more actually, for example how the original script from STALKER 2 was leaked back in 2009, and judging from the trailers they're using the same script from 2009 for this game, so they couldn't write a new script for 14 years.

Most we got is 2 trailers were are clearly faked and stitched up fo the devs to go "Look, we have progress!" But as I pointed out, people already called them both fake, they also put out some screenshots that didnt help convince anyone either. Heck, I wont be shocked if that Winter 2023 release claim is gonna get pushed back another year.

Exactly my point. Atomic Heart was open with how the initial trailers were proof-of-concept, they weren't trying to say "This is the game", but rather "We're pretty sure this can be close to the game we want to ship out.".

Any game that doesn't show off ANY sort of gameplay less than a year out from release? Yeah that's sketchy as hell.

I'll be totally honest, even without the war i doubt stalker 2 will actually release, its been delayed several times already and it seems like they have nothing to show past assets and scripted trailer shots.

Its kinda funny, stalker 2 was supposed to come out back in 2021, the devs pushed it back and once the war broke out, they were moved to Prague anyway. So, they dont have any excuses not to release the game in 2023.

With every hyped big game in current year there are two big questions:
1. Is it actually full price length (10+ hours)? Or is it the art team doing their work to create a small area and the devs are left to fill it with content that can be speedrun in an hour?
2. Is the jank not bad enough to ruin the experience?

Thie game looks very interesting, but yes many modern game studios and publishers have a sketchy business model where they're looking for near full price for a scaled up demo. Maybe it might shock Todd Howard (and I like 4 despite the underdeveloped story) into making a good Fallout game again. Will see.

Russia stronk seems a thing with a lot of Russia games, but that doesn't mean bad, so that recommended vid isn't right.

Again hopefully the developers and publishers aren't fly by night types and make a good product.
