Don't worry, anything it has in common with reality is nostalgia bait. It won't get you redpilled on class struggle or something.all the communist stuff made me change my mind
What about Singularity? Now that is a truly forgotten straight Bioshock cloneTheres only 2 games that show an alt.timeline USSR: This game and You Are Empty.
I was actually thinking of that game, but wound up not making a post because I had forgotten the name. Its a decent mid-range shooter I'd rate at 3.7 Roentgens: Not Great, Not Terrible. What about Singularity? Now that is a truly forgotten straight Bioshock clone
Isn't one of the overall themes of Atomic Heart that it wouldn't matter what super-science the USSR had because the people in charge were a bunch of corrupt self-serving assholes? I seem to recall an ending spoiler about the scientist dude who uploaded his mind into something to serve as your helper doing his best to betray you and rule the facility of horrors as his own.Don't worry, anything it has in common with reality is nostalgia bait. Not to mention that there's a social credit system in place, and surviving scientists point out the player character's exempt from it since he's a soldier and basically a toady for the facility bigwigs.Isn't one of the overall themes of Atomic Heart that it wouldn't matter what super-science the USSR had because the people in charge were a bunch of corrupt self-serving assholes? I think I liked that better than Atomic Heart. What about Singularity? Now that is a truly forgotten straight Bioshock clone
You mean when Char-LES finally gets out of your body and murders Sechenov to control the entire Atomic Heart project (except it fails), leading up to the potential epilogue DLC Annhilation Instinct.I seem to recall an ending spoiler about the scientist dude who uploaded his mind into something to serve as your helper doing his best to betray you and rule the facility of horrors as his own.
I'm getting a very weird mix of Cyberpunk and Borderlands. Though, judging by the music I'm guessing the game takes place in the West now?
That's a lot of weird shit packed in one trailer. First game was mid, I doubt the second one will play any better. However I still appreciate different studios doing their own thing instead of following whatever current trend.
I think I might've made this point earlier but I can't remember. IMO, the game would have been a lot better if it didn't incorporate the overworld and instead opted for more traditional area progression a la Bioshock. Remember, AH1 was announced in fucking 2018 and it still took them five years to push out what was ultimately only four proper areas: the lab, the welcome center, the theater, and the medical complex. The overworld and the challenge zones added nothing to the game and from my point of view only served to pad out what was otherwise an anemic experience. That's a lot of weird shit packed in one trailer. There's also a 3rd game called ILL, as for The Cube it kidna looks Atomic Heart version of DestinySecond game looks pretty promising, but whats up with this "The Cube" game? Seems odd such a small studio with only 1 (albeit pretty decent), game under their belt is simultaneously trying to pump out 2 games now?
A big draw of the first game for me was the setting and music. If the second one is just going to be a generic Borderlands clone with a "we have Guardians of the Galaxy at home" soundtrack then I'll give it a pass.Though, judging by the music I'm guessing the game takes place in the West now?
