Wasn't Ubisoft working on a game that was literally just the ship portion of Black Flag but under some new franchise?
Skull & Bones is stuck in development hell. They've changed directors and rebooted it a bunch of times since the reveal.

I'm in the minority that legitimately enjoyed Syndicate though it was the start of all that RPG nonsense.
I don't remember the story, only that Ubishit tried to pass Marx as a cool guy and they made a character a tranny even though IRL that woman was just crossdressing because she wanted to be part of a gang. I made the mistake of doing the side-missions first so everytime I played a story mission I would be way too OP.

I assume what happened is everyone and their grandmother complained that it was only ship vs ship combat and Ubisoft has been trying to add on foot, single player content.

I would have been fine with the game just being ship vs ship combat and maybe a sequel could expand on that, but now it seems like they bit off more than they could chew, I hate to think gamer cynicism sunk another game with so much potential.

Indeed. 2 years after they showed the first trailer, the game became like a reskin of For Honor with heroes, a map divided in sectors and all that. I think at one point there were bosses or big sea monsters (maybe I'm thinking of another game).

Yes, For Honor with boats is what they seemed to be going for, which would have been fine with me.

They teased sea monsters in the first trailer, so you're thinking of Skull & Bones.

Hopefully it will come out eventually.

Now, we truly wuz vikangz.
I got to him and i honestly tought that it was one of the normal ubisoft fuck ups. He speaks with a nordic accent and is dressed and tattoed like a viking. But yet hes black and none of the characters commented upon it. I had to go on to reddit and most people are either confused or defending it like: uhmmmm sweety acxtually the vikings where hella diverse! 👏👏👏.
Why do we need to insert modern racial poltics in to societies that wouldn't have known them or cared for them? Why does everyone feel the need to always undermine european history?

One of the most annoying things in AC valhalla is that there isn't a lot of npc models that look Anglo or Nordic. Instead almost everyone looks like they are mediterranean.

maybe it's set in the same universe as crusader kings where the gta/viking/harem simulator simulator gets some interesting portraits from those terrifyed women you drag back to the longboat.
