Articles & Happenings is the third attempt at a news board on the Kiwi Farms. It is a cursed place. Every moderator who has been assigned here has resigned within a year. During 2016, the political crossfire was so bad it spread to different boards and culminated in me banning American news discussion entirely for several months. It has been deleted in its entirety twice. There is no actual discussion here, it's people posting garbage. It leans much further right than the rest of the site and doesn't particularly conduct discussion because dissenting opinions are dogpiled by a thousand memelords posting shit they read on /pol/ without any critical analysis.

The only rules that can be enforced are empirical ones with boolean violation answers. New threads must cite a real source directly and must use the headline of the article as a thread title without any editorializing. Articles must be archived in some way and must link to the original article. Replies that are one word or a reaction images are automatic one-month bans from the board.

I'm creating this now because it seems like this place is here to stay and is one of the largest areas of the entire site. I might as well throw in bare minimum effort to improve it. I don't even try to find mods for here because they will quit, without exception. I've added new prefixes ("Business" and "Crime") just now.

how do you intend to moderate it, specifically deal with dedicated mentally ill shitposters? disallow tor exit nodes and vpns, then get rid of problem users by throwing ip range bans at them?

That also brings up another question.

Is 9chan intended to be a replacement for 8chan and as such is it intended to become a popular replacement for 8kun or is it just a test on the Farms to see if forum culture can translate into imageboard culture?
 
I'm not sure what a Yotsuba imageboard would accomplish over keeping the politics here. If anything it just seems like more work to moderate. Additionally if this board somehow grows as large as 4chan's Politically Incorrect, how do you intend to handle things like the inevitable tide of slidebots, possible manifestos (real or otherwise) pinned to you by the federal government and all the other things that make various iterations of /pol/ a headache for its administrators?

I like the intention behind this, but I feel like the people who regularly post here won't leave or suddenly become interested in Internet weirdos. This may cause the same problem this board was created to solve: political autism leaking into lolcow threads.

Fuck it, worth a shot though.

I'm hoping it's the latter. The former would do more harm than good considering before 8kun half the posters there were fed posters. Last thing we need is the CIA/NSA/Feds always watching us.

You're seriously trying to conflate having opinions with active psyops to subvert multiple boards? Ｎｉｇｇｅｒ　ａｒｅ　ｙｏｕ　ｓｅｒｉｏｕｓ？ Even IF they were the same that doesn't invalidate basic etiquette. If you sincerely believe /pol/ is running raids to "convert" other boards on 4chan then you might need your own thread in Lolcows.

People like you — who immediately cry about the board and derail threads the moment anything even resembling politics is mentioned — are more annoying than they are, without exception. The only thing /pol/ is actually guilty of is being the new /b/, wherein it attracts newfags to the website thanks to the massive surge in political shit-flinging (which /pol/ was not the catalyst of; we can blame Twitter for that.)

I want to say "this isn't a selling point" but if the clown keeps performing I can't really judge people for pointing and laughing.

So why are the Farms co-opting a chan? Was stealing the best posters not enough but instead must shame them further by being a better image board as well?
