Articles & Happenings is the third attempt at a news board on the Kiwi Farms. It is a cursed place. Every moderator who has been assigned here has resigned within a year. During 2016, the political crossfire was so bad it spread to different boards and culminated in me banning American news discussion entirely for several months. It has been deleted in its entirety twice. There is no actual discussion here, it's people posting garbage. It leans much further right than the rest of the site and doesn't particularly conduct discussion because dissenting opinions are dogpiled by a thousand memelords posting shit they read on /pol/ without any critical analysis.

The only rules that can be enforced are empirical ones with boolean violation answers. New threads must cite a real source directly and must use the headline of the article as a thread title without any editorializing. Articles must be archived in some way and must link to the original article. Replies that are one word or a reaction images are automatic one-month bans from the board.

I'm creating this now because it seems like this place is here to stay and is one of the largest areas of the entire site. I might as well throw in bare minimum effort to improve it. I don't even try to find mods for here because they will quit, without exception. I've added new prefixes ("Business" and "Crime") just now.

As long as KF doesn't end up like ResetERA, I can't see myself abandoning ship. The userbase of this place is far better than most forums, and possibly the most varied, too. The atmosphere you get here is also hard to find these days, where for the most part, everyone is level-headed and you can learn a fair bit from the more serious discussions that go on here. I originally joined just to chip in from time to time, but this forum really grew on me, and now it feels like a place I can call home.

There are quite literally dozens of different ways to specify a Hebrew or a black person, some funnier than others, and the filters are CLEARLY not perfect in any event. Adapt or get filtered.

I submitted a revenge rating complaint a while back, not sure if the user had his stickers taken away or what, but it was a legit reporting. I saw him posting dumb shit on someone's profile and rated him moti or dumb or something then I get like 5 notifications of him rating my old profile posts as moti or dumb.

It's definitely a thing.

A we'en is a name given to someone who trolls chris as in 'epic weeen'. It's a name for alogs specific to chris, If I'm not mistaken.

It's because people would not fucking stop saying it on the Chris forum years and years back. It was practically impossible to go more than 2-4 posts without seeing someone using the damned phrase and it got really old, really fast.
