Articles & Happenings is the third attempt at a news board on the Kiwi Farms. It is a cursed place. Every moderator who has been assigned here has resigned within a year. During 2016, the political crossfire was so bad it spread to different boards and culminated in me banning American news discussion entirely for several months. It has been deleted in its entirety twice. There is no actual discussion here, it's people posting garbage. It leans much further right than the rest of the site and doesn't particularly conduct discussion because dissenting opinions are dogpiled by a thousand memelords posting shit they read on /pol/ without any critical analysis.

The only rules that can be enforced are empirical ones with boolean violation answers. New threads must cite a real source directly and must use the headline of the article as a thread title without any editorializing. Articles must be archived in some way and must link to the original article. Replies that are one word or a reaction images are automatic one-month bans from the board.

I'm creating this now because it seems like this place is here to stay and is one of the largest areas of the entire site. I might as well throw in bare minimum effort to improve it. I don't even try to find mods for here because they will quit, without exception. I've added new prefixes ("Business" and "Crime") just now.

Someone should move the lazy bait articles about SJWs and race that keep getting posted in other off-topic boards (i.e. Multimedia and Hulkamania) into Deep Thoughts to keep it contained. In many cases they're redundant to discussion threads already existing in those boards.

I personally am still waiting for the proof of these people existing in such great number and that they are A&H regulars even. I'm not saying it doesn't exist, just that nobody has came forward with the proof of it being so rampant as claimed.

Deep thoughts doesn't offer anything except retarded hot takes, as it reads on the tin. Cut it out, no big loss. Dumb essays written by autists are this website's bread and butter, you don't have to visit Deep Thoughts to get it.
A&H, for a time (and still to an extent now), offers a heterodox environment to discuss current events that doesn't happen all that often elsewhere. That's why I think what people are really upset about is it's descent into groupthink and becoming hostile to dissent, but they fail to understand that so they impotently whine about stickers, antisemitism, and dogpiling instead.
And as this thread has gone on it has become quite apparent there are also users who just want A&H to simply be a different kind of circlejerk than it currently is, and aren't interested or aren't capable of back-and-forth discussion in lieu of flaming the thread and then flouncing off in a huff when they get flamed back.

Well didn't I say spamming shitty articles was a way to run unfavorable stories off the first page of the board? It's a form of information suppression.

Bury a story I don't like, I don't have any personal stake in any story published by the MSM or the non mainstream, if there is anyone like that on this website? I question their priorities in life. This was all about combining threads as there are like 4 separate Bernie threads that can all be put in one massive thread about how Bernie is getting fucked over as an example.
