Articles & Happenings is the third attempt at a news board on the Kiwi Farms. It is a cursed place. Every moderator who has been assigned here has resigned within a year. During 2016, the political crossfire was so bad it spread to different boards and culminated in me banning American news discussion entirely for several months. It has been deleted in its entirety twice. There is no actual discussion here, it's people posting garbage. It leans much further right than the rest of the site and doesn't particularly conduct discussion because dissenting opinions are dogpiled by a thousand memelords posting shit they read on /pol/ without any critical analysis.

The only rules that can be enforced are empirical ones with boolean violation answers. New threads must cite a real source directly and must use the headline of the article as a thread title without any editorializing. Articles must be archived in some way and must link to the original article. Replies that are one word or a reaction images are automatic one-month bans from the board.

I'm creating this now because it seems like this place is here to stay and is one of the largest areas of the entire site. I might as well throw in bare minimum effort to improve it. I don't even try to find mods for here because they will quit, without exception. I've added new prefixes ("Business" and "Crime") just now.

How could one make that story even worse?
  • The direct intervention of a polarizing political figure. A Trump tweet would qualify, but there are other people and other media that would work.
  • Someone troons out. Zimmerman, Trayvon (posthumous allegations), whoever.
  • Some mastermind tries to influence the outcome via a physical assault. Think Tonya Harding against Nancy Kerrigan but even more poorly done.
  • Kevin Landau. There must be a way.
Any other ideas?

That thread is like the concentrated essence of A&H all in one place.

Larry Klayman's license getting suspended during the case. The D.C. Bar has already tentatively ordered it but I assume he'll appeal and delay it once it becomes final. Once the D.C. Bar does that, they'll notify everywhere else he's licensed, including Florida, which will exercise reciprocal discipline and suspend his license too.

I basically ran out of steam having a discussion there. It was insightful, but a couple regulars there are committed to their side of the story.

This coming from the guy who was told repeatedly that he was getting certain facts wrong yet kept saying the same things.

Their side of the story meaning the inconvenient established facts of the case?

I get being frustrated at the juvenile shock racist act that some people there are putting on, but you're just whining that people won't go along with a version of events that no evidence supports.

At least you're not whining for American politics to be banned like some people prominently starring in this thread...

and bluntly, if one keeps one's "juvenile shock racist act" going 24/7, going so far as to post gay threads on another's profile about why they don't hate niggers enough, there's no difference between the act and actually being a knuckle-dragging racist dipshit.

Whining to the mods, because if it bothers you so much you have an ignore button you can use. It's basically admitting that you not only don't want to see that person's posts, you want others not to see them either.

Though I don't see it as a pussy thing to put people on ignore if all they do is shit like bait posts. It's the posting equivalent of spamming ASCII art in a stream chat.
