Articles & Happenings is the third attempt at a news board on the Kiwi Farms. It is a cursed place. Every moderator who has been assigned here has resigned within a year. During 2016, the political crossfire was so bad it spread to different boards and culminated in me banning American news discussion entirely for several months. It has been deleted in its entirety twice. There is no actual discussion here, it's people posting garbage. It leans much further right than the rest of the site and doesn't particularly conduct discussion because dissenting opinions are dogpiled by a thousand memelords posting shit they read on /pol/ without any critical analysis.

The only rules that can be enforced are empirical ones with boolean violation answers. New threads must cite a real source directly and must use the headline of the article as a thread title without any editorializing. Articles must be archived in some way and must link to the original article. Replies that are one word or a reaction images are automatic one-month bans from the board.

I'm creating this now because it seems like this place is here to stay and is one of the largest areas of the entire site. I might as well throw in bare minimum effort to improve it. I don't even try to find mods for here because they will quit, without exception. I've added new prefixes ("Business" and "Crime") just now.

I'm having too much fun watching it evolve from one train wreck to the next and it's long past the point where it's even possible to clean the thread up. Plus, it's a nice microcosm of the A&H board in that you get to watch every thread change topics 50 times, loads of people show up to call each other Hitler and get mad about internet stickers, and at some point Hillary is blamed for something.

How is it being a Supervisor? Anything you had to supervise in A&H or is it business as usual?

There's all sorts of minor stuff that you have to mess with every single day, but A&H is a beautiful trash fire and I love it. I have no idea why so many other people wound up quitting because of this board. All you really need to do is move threads to the appropriate spots, pull articles out of quotations, or delete reaction images. Occasionally you have to wipe out a lot of comments from people incoherently screaming at Ashy for "shitting up the board" whilst they, ironically, shit up the board.

There's really not that much to it. I think people just don't enjoy political slap-fights so it wears them out, but that particular brand of autism is my bread and butter.

Joaquin deserves the Oscar. Not even meming, the film is great and his insanely intense performance as a man brought to the very end of his rope by a blend of circumstance, the casual cruelty of others, and his own madness is the reason why.

You really should see it, its pretty fucking amazing. A lot of people have said because of just how 'realistic' it is. He just fucking drops and that's it. No drama, no nothing, he's just fucking gone.

The way his voice is cracking and everything...its just....wow.

If he doesn't get an Oscar for this, he was fucking robbed. Period end. I've seen some good films this year, but Joker was the best, no doubt. And sad with the politics and bullshit of the Academy it will never get the recognition.

Can we get mods to just nuke threads that are created in an obvious rush to be the first one to post it to KF in order to get epic reaction sticker upboats? I saw no less than 2 threads with garbage formatting and a bazillion off topic lines of text in them today alone, and I've been too busy to really browse around.
