Articles & Happenings is the third attempt at a news board on the Kiwi Farms. It is a cursed place. Every moderator who has been assigned here has resigned within a year. During 2016, the political crossfire was so bad it spread to different boards and culminated in me banning American news discussion entirely for several months. It has been deleted in its entirety twice. There is no actual discussion here, it's people posting garbage. It leans much further right than the rest of the site and doesn't particularly conduct discussion because dissenting opinions are dogpiled by a thousand memelords posting shit they read on /pol/ without any critical analysis.

The only rules that can be enforced are empirical ones with boolean violation answers. New threads must cite a real source directly and must use the headline of the article as a thread title without any editorializing. Articles must be archived in some way and must link to the original article. Replies that are one word or a reaction images are automatic one-month bans from the board.

I'm creating this now because it seems like this place is here to stay and is one of the largest areas of the entire site. I might as well throw in bare minimum effort to improve it. I don't even try to find mods for here because they will quit, without exception. I've added new prefixes ("Business" and "Crime") just now.

It's only natural for people to care more about stuff that upsets them than stuff they don't care about or actually like. Feedback on anything tends to be negative.

Corbin still has a lot of potential use for this forum. Continue to ban him everytime he autistically re-regs, then ban the people that sperg out over his re-regs.

Who said he was hilarious?

I liked the guy but he seemed pushy and weirdly hostile at times. What lead to him getting banned though was his own fault.

Not naming names but there's still a good few posters that fit that description around. They just haven't interacted with Null much I guess. One thing I will say for Corbin, more often than not if he was utterly BTFO by FACTS and LOGIC he'd admit it and back off. Not sure why he's still lurking here all the time and making re-regs though. That's completely at odds with the previous behavior.

He shouldn't have practically begged for a referendum on his banning because the site is full of bloodthirsty cannibals who will vote for a ban just for the lulz.
 
So is the ignore function broken or are some people here such boomers that they can't figure out how to block annoying users and need daddy government jannies to ban the big bad Corbin Dallas Poopoohead?

I didn’t mind him personally but when people offer ultimatums or try to flex their ego on a forum, my first instinct is to tell them to get fucked.

Wait do you guys think I asked for that vote? That isn't what happened. I made a self deprecating post about all my tts threads, quoting the tts threads and making fun of my own spergery. Null turned it into a vote.

And like @AnOminous said, people will vote ban for the lulz. @The Last Stand , my sock, would be voted out if there was a vote to ban them. Hell, give anyone a ban thread where null prefaces it by saying he wants to ban them, and lock them out of it. They'd be banned, except maybe hk47...

Actually... How about a vote to keep one Corbin account. Either unban Corbin and ban @The Last Stand , or ban @The Last Stand and unban Corbin.
 
It's weird how Corbin doesn't realize that the people who like having him around do it ironically. Like it's fun to have him around just because he'll say/do something dumb. Watching him fight the bans with an army of socks is funny because it's dumb and overreacting. He's like one of those users you come across and just think "Oh you." kinda like @Rand /pol/ before he changed avis and got lazy with his bait.
