Articles & Happenings is the third attempt at a news board on the Kiwi Farms. It is a cursed place. Every moderator who has been assigned here has resigned within a year. During 2016, the political crossfire was so bad it spread to different boards and culminated in me banning American news discussion entirely for several months. It has been deleted in its entirety twice. There is no actual discussion here, it's people posting garbage. It leans much further right than the rest of the site and doesn't particularly conduct discussion because dissenting opinions are dogpiled by a thousand memelords posting shit they read on /pol/ without any critical analysis.

The only rules that can be enforced are empirical ones with boolean violation answers. New threads must cite a real source directly and must use the headline of the article as a thread title without any editorializing. Articles must be archived in some way and must link to the original article. Replies that are one word or a reaction images are automatic one-month bans from the board.

I'm creating this now because it seems like this place is here to stay and is one of the largest areas of the entire site. I might as well throw in bare minimum effort to improve it. I don't even try to find mods for here because they will quit, without exception. I've added new prefixes ("Business" and "Crime") just now.

I don't think people should be banned without being told whether it's permanent or not. It should be on some kind of time scale unless there's a good reason for it not to be. It just encourages people to turn into giant spergs and tard rage when they assume it's permanent.

Unless that's actually the point it is just mod trolling to do it that way.

I would assume that was the case. He kept annoying the mods, so the mods decided to make him rage.

It is definitely true that the old a&h just ain't what she used to be (ain't what she used to be, ain't what she used to be) and it is definitely interesting to me to see the way it has changed. I feel like you're both right - we have definitely shifted rightward, but at the same time become way more sensitive and unwilling to treat slurs as background noise. How it looks to me is that after the 2016 election of Trump vs Hillary and the switch of the right and left with respect to the mainstream culture vs counter culture, giant swathe of users got severely redpilled, including a lot of a&h's many liberals. Although redpilled isn't exactly the right word, since none of us changed our principles, it's more that the overton window has shifted.

The shift rightward is not at all surprising to me. In the current cultural climate where being woke is trendy, people in the center are going to be driven to the right whether they like it or not, especially as it continues to ramp up. Even some on the left are shifting to the right to escape the madness that SJWs are bringing to the table. Only way board culture will change on A&H (or KF as a whole) is if the cultural climate shifts again, or the place becomes a carbon copy of ResetEra in terms of moderation.
 
Also anyone posting on Kiwifarms is a counter culture faggot. Guess what the counter culture is now that the hippie boomers are actually in government now?

To be fair, before I tard raged about it I tried several times to find out about whether it was a perma ban or not.

It's very funny to see the warped version of cdmp that some people have a grudge against. I'm a weird political Boogeyman who has strong opinions about thorium(where did that come from?)

Also weird: whenever I do this I get an autistic or dumb rating from certain posters like seconds after my first post.

This isn't exactly accurate. The mods overall didn't seem to give a shit about me. I did annoy null very much, more than I realized, or I wouldn't have done it. I thought we were goofing around. From there I couldn't even speak in my own defense...
