Articles & Happenings is the third attempt at a news board on the Kiwi Farms. It is a cursed place. Every moderator who has been assigned here has resigned within a year. During 2016, the political crossfire was so bad it spread to different boards and culminated in me banning American news discussion entirely for several months. It has been deleted in its entirety twice. There is no actual discussion here, it's people posting garbage. It leans much further right than the rest of the site and doesn't particularly conduct discussion because dissenting opinions are dogpiled by a thousand memelords posting shit they read on /pol/ without any critical analysis.

The only rules that can be enforced are empirical ones with boolean violation answers. New threads must cite a real source directly and must use the headline of the article as a thread title without any editorializing. Articles must be archived in some way and must link to the original article. Replies that are one word or a reaction images are automatic one-month bans from the board.

I'm creating this now because it seems like this place is here to stay and is one of the largest areas of the entire site. I might as well throw in bare minimum effort to improve it. I don't even try to find mods for here because they will quit, without exception. I've added new prefixes ("Business" and "Crime") just now.

Discuss.

New threads should be made like this.

Member when it was always suggested in a way that A&N was going to be what caused the site to get shut down...

I'm surprised just how many KF hit pieces are coming out of the woodwork right now. It's certainly a strange shift from the normal CatParty flavor
Null saying Bloomberg reporters were digging through his lawyer's garbage was extremely surprising.
People have been screeching about this site for years, what the hell?

The press vermin are just angry that they no longer have a monopoly on "facts" and that, worse, the people usurping their privilege actually tell the truth instead of just making up outrageous easily-disproven lies. So they're unleashing their Goebbels wall of lies technique and fair gaming anyone in their way.

Sure, yes, but it's also been that way for five years now. Did a well-connected tranny whining the most really convince the press box that we had to be baleeted?

Since CatParty no longer posts will the special thread marker they used stick around or will it be removed?

it harms nothing by staying in dormant, what is with people constantly trying to make little changes? Are you afraid there won't be room for a little bread loaf emoji when you post your 3,000th article? (not a promise btw, but a real possibility; don't let your dreams just be dreams)

Not being able to read this subforum for a while made me realize that the membership required rule is a very good one. I haven't had to take my blood pressure meds in a month!

With all the new fags showing up we need to start actually doing something about people necro'ing 8 month (to 4-5 year old) threads w/o actually including any real new information.

Half the shit they say could be in a more current thread and it pushes real news off with the shit.

Maybe threads could be locked after its been inactive for a period of time?

No, because sometimes articles do get random updates after a bit of time, the problem never got really bad til the "related threads" feature got added. Easiest solution would be if people actually paid a bit of attention before posting. But good luck with that. (not that I haven't fucked up and done it once or twice)

Another issues is people posting slightly different articles about the same event as separate threads.

I thought some sort of anti-necro policy was used at one point. I vaguely recall old threads locking and new posts having to go through the board mod.

There was I thought,

I think I've seen the article about the energy guy stealing the luggage posted 4 times now. Niggers can't even be bothered to check the first page to see if the shit is there much less second page.

The necro'ing picked up for a little bit but it wasn't so high volume that I'd call it a problem. Other staff haven't complained so I may have handled all of them, not sure.
